I’ve never shot a maternity session before (now) … and I really have no idea of the “proper poses” to use on a mommy in her 9th month, but if I was going to shoot one, I’d envision the final pictures to be something that made me smile, that showed the energy and love of pregnancy, that included the “baby” of the family who is soon to be the “big sister” and that let the mommy be who she is … silly, fun, and full of life. That’s what I’d want. How convenient that I have a pregnant daughter to let me practice on! These photos were taken April 3rd, just 11 days before her due date of April 14. I was just sure she would go into labor after this photo session, but this is normal stuff for Megan with frequent trips to the gym and toting Sydney around and all. Just another walk in the park. And what a beautiful park it is.
Sydney was actually feeling a bit contrary and needing some luvins’ from her mommy. The pictures we wanted her in, she didn’t want to cooperate in, and the ones we didn’t want her in (until later that is … that sounded a bit rude), she found a way to be there. She is full of life like her mom, and her mom knows how to bring out the best in her, and I got the fun of capturing all that luvin’ and silliness on my camera.
That’s some strong baby muscles folks. I always tell her she looks the shape of an Easter egg.
“Mom, wanna go home and have yunch? I wanna eat.”
From there we walked back to Meg’s house for lunch, put Syd down for a nap and continued with a few more pictures in the nursery. Megan’s color choices in her house are so beautiful … and this room is no exception. I can hardly wait to meet my fourth grandchild to see whether it’s a boy or a girl. I’m saying boy, and so is Megan, but Syd says sister. I think daddy vacillates back and forth. I think we’ll all know soon enough! Maybe you have a guess as to the sex and weight? If so, write a comment with your predictions. 🙂 I’ll throw in a half price hourly photo session (4 people max) for the person(s) who guess closest to the birth date, sex, and birth weight. I’ll have a team of experts (my family) make the final decision of who is closest. Now on to the full monty — belly that is!
Thank you Megan for letting me have such fun with you. Maybe we should do it again sometime … in a few years that is. Love you all so much. XXOO MOM
