With the possibility of at least one of my two new grandbabies being born any time now, I thought it best to have some Easter egg fun now — while the gettin’s good. The plan was to gather at Megan’s house to color Easter eggs and take a few maternity pictures. My house is a disaster with pre-carpet preparations and Megan has the most wonderful light in her home … but as plans sometimes go, they change. Syd got sick. 🙁 (Poor Momma — date night got cancelled too). Plan B came into play soon after Plan A fell apart — crash Granny Jo Jo’s house! She has wonderful light too, and the best part is she lives a few houses from my sister, and the even better part is that my sister was babysitting her four grandkids, and the best part of all is that I got to see all of them and take a few candid pictures! I make the family calendar every year and with everyone’s lives getting so busy, it gets harder to get those treasured family shots. But I got some today! 🙂

First off, I just have to share Baby Mae — Kirk and Amy’s youngest. I got to take her newborn pictures and now she is 9 months and crawling. Ahhhh! She is so cute with her big round eyes and heart-shaped lips. So sweet! You’ll notice she has a couple bibs on … her everyday accessories cause she likes to drool. I’m drooling over this girl!

This is Charlie … Mae’s three-year old brother who is so fun, funny, imaginative, handsome … and just downright happy.

One of the reasons he was so downright happy at this moment is because of the next two girls — his cousins. Can a boy love his cousins any more than this kid does — or can his cousins love him anymore than they do?  They just adore each other. Nicole and Justin’s twins are Eva and Emma and at 9-1/2 are busy and in so many things … soccer, gymnastics, reading, hula hooping to name a few. Eva has the most tender heart. She has grown her hair out twice to donate to “Locks of Love” but has decided this past year that short is the way to go. I love this Justin Bieberish cut on her with the sides longer and the back shorter, and hadn’t seen her since it was cut. They tell me it’s getting long and ready for a trim, so I can only imagine how cute it was when first cut. LOVE it! Or maybe it’s the sweetness and maturity that shows in her eyes that I love.

This is Emma with her new shoulder length doo. (The back on both girls hair is wedged up and so cute.) Both girls have such bright futures and have been raised with so much love. They know how to be “kids” but are taught responsibility as well. Such sweet girls, both of them.

The girls had to go so we invited Charlie to color eggs with MJ. He was so excited to tell me he was going to do that with his mom and dad. “Well, maybe you can just practice with us for when you color with them?” “OK” he says. The boys were so into it and took it so seriously. As compared to last year with not one egg surviving MJ and Sydney, this year 7 eggs out of 18 made it out whole. Woo hoo! MJ seemed to prefer blue.

And Charlie, green … his favorite color.

With Easter almost upon us, I wish you fun family times as well. Should any of you live in the Boise area and need a good egg hunt for your children, please join us at First Baptist Church’s EGGSTRAVAGANZA to be held Saturday, April 7th from 10-Noon in the First Baptist Church parking lot at 13th and Washington (to the west of Boise High School). It’s free, it’s for the community and I’ll be there taking candids throughout the event so please look for me! We have 5000 candy filled eggs for all age groups so everyone goes home with lots of eggs and candy. There will be games, free prizes, food, and of course the Easter Bunny will make his (her?) appearance passing out eggs as well. We praise God that He died on the Cross for our sins then rose again three days later just as foretold by the ancient prophets. The stories are true – He IS Risen – and Jesus enjoys seeing families having fun more than anyone. Hope to see you there!

“High five kids. Job well done! Now let’s wrap this mess up!”

Well, I was already jealous that we missed out on the RARE cousin gathering…but after seeing these adorable pictures of the faces we see to little of, I’m even more jealous. I love the one of the knees under the table, and who can resist the face of Mae??? - March 31, 2012 - 12:28 PM

I know, I was bummed too that Syd had to get sick and keep you away. I was so happy to see Eva and Emma … they were there only about a half hour so timing was perfect for me to see them.

That shot under the table, wow, really like the perspective. Love seeing sweet boys, happily occupied 😉

Great photos mom! I know Megan was sad she and Syd could not be there. I love the high 5 picture, and the photos that look like dad when he concentrates minus the tung hanging out. I love reading new posts.
