Our Home

We moved in August, got our first snow in November, and are now all cozy and warm inside. As a believer in Jesus, I know that Christmas is when we celebrate His birth. He was born in humble means — not a new house like we are so grateful to have — but a barn like setting with smelly and noisy animals no-doubt nearby. While we are often un-content with the things around us, I wonder how Mary and Joseph felt about the place where Jesus was born? They knew he was special even before he was born — He was to be the long awaited Messiah after all — so didn’t they want better for Him? Probably … but my instincts tell me that they were beyond grateful that night to have a place — any place — when all the other places in town were full. God knew all along what He was doing (He always does) and the rest, they say, is history — HIS STORY. (To learn more about Jesus’ birth story read Matthew 1 and 2 or Luke 2.)

Love to you all this Christmas and come visit us! (Hopefully on a day it snows with your snow shovel in tow.) 🙂

MJ Mouser now 5; Simone Gerichs 2-¾; Sydney Gerichs turning 5 New Year’s Day; and Jayden Mouser three weeks older than Simone.

(It was MJ’s idea to have everyone hold a present.) 🙂 So fun these guys. And just think, in May we’ll add another one when we welcome Cole Isaac Gerichs!

Merry Christmas, Mary! I have spent the morning looking through all the new posts on here. Your home is stunning! I am amazed at how you gather all your family for photos so regularly and how beautiful the results are. This parenting thing just doesn’t compare to the grandparent gig 😉
