Ordinary People. Extraordinary Lives.

Ordinary people. Extraordinary lives. That’s the motto for First Baptist Church where I have attended all but two years since the second grade. The church has changed up down and sideways in the years I’ve attended and it has grown leaps and bounds in those years as well. It’s a welcoming church — come with your troubles and someone will listen if you want. We’re all ordinary in some way, but each of us have a story, and it’s those stories that make us extraordinary, especially when God is involved. The stories vary and there are no two exactly alike. I’ll leave the sermons to Pastor Bruce and Youth Pastor Matt but I’m going to show you some of the ordinary people at our church with extraordinary God stories. Some just don’t know it yet. They are young, they are old. Some of these people I’ve known for 50 years, others I have yet to meet more than the snap of my camera. Some may have just started coming last Sunday while others have been serving the Lord a very long time. Several times each year I am invited to take pictures of anything I want, and then some of those pictures are turned into 11×14 framed images that line the hallways and stairwells. Other photographers have images there as well. It’s such an honor. I’m ordinary but there have been times when God used even me in extraordinary ways. He can use you too. 🙂 Love, Mary

If you know any of these people, and feel they might like this post, please pass it along for me will you? Thank you and have a wonderful week. Love, Mary

Loved how you captured all the different generations of “ordinary” people that comprise our church (God’s church)! Great pics and good to see faces that I don’t see as often anymore! Thanks for your service.
