Cole Isaac at 6 and 18 Days

Would you believe Cole is almost three weeks already! I know, I’ve been a slacker. Big Sister Sydney always says when she’s holding him “he’s so adorable I just want to squeeze his neck because I love him so much” (yes, we discourage the neck squeezing) but it’s true, he is adorable. :- ) He was born 9 days late and 55 minutes after Megan and Robby arrived at the Birthing Center — and have I mentioned that he was born in his birth sack? The midwives said that rarely happens and is supposed to be a good omen so of course this one is going to become an Olympic swimmer or something special — (like the others naturally are – duh!) (Birth details and 1st day’s homecoming can be seen here.) He was born 7 days after his cousin Gavin on the Gerichs’ side so they are going to have some fun growing up together! He’s a peeing machine, this one, and officially my hardest baby to photograph to date (my now 3-year old g-babe Jayden took that honor before him). Oh my, we were at it for hours and I barely got any variety (or so I thought at the time) because he kept waking up. Stinker … literally. The day we photographed him his belly button cord was close to falling off and ooohh-weee, did it stink! You’ll be happy to know it did fall off a few days later and he now smells like a sweet baby should. 🙂 We tried three times to photograph him with his dad, and three times he peed all over him (I put in one untouched image to prove my point) and I should say Robby handled it like the great dad he is — didn’t drop him or anything. Ha! Megan and I sure had a good laugh, especially of the black and white one where Robby is holding him in the air — Cole peed all done his arm. If I would have just taken the shot instead of running for a towel, it would have been classic. Pictures are but a moment in time. One moment it’s a sweet sleeping baby, and the next day they are 10 pounds bigger or five years older. Seriously, how does that happen?! I love you Cole — give your wonderful folks a hug for me. XXO Gramma

It looks like he’ll be blue eyed like his big sis Sydney with brown hair like his big sis Simone. Time will tell.

The girls and Megan came over in the afternoon to hang out and Robby joined us later for dinner, so we decided to try a few more poses (because seriously, can I ever have enough?!) and Cole slept like a champ — sort of. Megan would pop her finger in his mouth then pop it out at the moment for the shot, and bingo, we got some other pictures! I also love the ones I got of Megan with her sweet boy (no in her words “perfect boy“). Check out his eyebrows how they are coming in dark after only a few weeks. And he sleeps with his mouth open just like I do. 🙂

This is how it goes sometimes in newborn photography. It’s rarely easy but so worth it in the end. I ordered the little hat and pants on Etsy and they took weeks to get here. I couldn’t figure it out because normally stuff arrives in a few days. I got a slip from the Post Office that I had a package I had to pick up there and couldn’t imagine what it could be. Well, it turned out to be this little knit set and it came from ROMANIA!

So, so cute!!! He is a keeper for sure. Congratulations Gerichs and Mousers–he is handsome and lucky boy to have such a wonderful family!

Thanks Linda. It’s so fun sharing him in pictures. He’s got skinny legs and a round milk-filled tummy. 🙂

I finally remembered to leave a comment. This is one beautiful baby, and these are some terrific shots! You are truly gifted.

I have a SON! And oh, is he a precious and perfect one at that!!! I have looked at these ten times now and still don’t have just ONE favorite. Perhaps I should turn my piano room into a wall of Cole photos. 😉 I adore the first picture- eyes are such a window into the soul as they say and I love when he opens those big eyes and just stares into mine- just like he’s doing in this photo. Plus it’s fun to see Syd’s baby eyes all over again, and Simone’s little lips. Other than those two things he’s all uniquely Cole, but it’s fun to see glints of his sisters in him. The one at the end with all three kids kills me, and the one of Sydney kissing his nose is precious especially because I know how excited she was to be a big girl and hold him like that. They’re all so fantastic showing off his pudgy cheeks, brand new brows, tummy wrinkles and itty bitty toes. He might be almost 10 pounds but he’s still teensy tiny to me. I know this was a hard shoot, and an even harder edit job- but the outcome, oh the outcome is magnificent! Thanks for your hours of back breaking love to capture this moment in our lives. He’s loved, that’s for certain!!!

Thanks Vince, I’m glad we have blogs to swap. Yours is much more entertaining than mine, except for when it comes to my g-babes of course. 🙂

Yes new momma, my back was broken over the hours of love capturing these — just don’t tell anyone it was broken long before that. It was all for him and him alone … but then he’s worth it! I’m still trying to figure out my favorite too. I think it’s the close up of him on the brown blanket with the knit stretchy over his head … or the one of him in a C with a tad bid of toes showing and those back wrinkles. He looks so big in pictures but so small in person (oh I just had a flash back of me saying that 11 times in Hawaii when I met Sydney for the first time.) But so true – those cameras do add 10 pounds (or 10 ounces, whichever the case may be for babies). Love you Meg.

Beautiful! Thank you for the great pictures. You do great work! I’m just going to stare at Mone’s eyes all night.

Megan - June 7, 2015 - 9:55 PM

Sweet!!! So I really look ten pounds lighter in person? Hehehe. Love you too.

Kay Lynn - June 25, 2015 - 1:47 PM

Just looked at Toby Royer’s pics and loved his wide-open eyes…..but these sleeping-baby pics are so, so sweet. Those baby lips are the best. 🙂 🙂 Megan, you look BEAUTIFUL!!!

Julia - June 27, 2015 - 12:13 PM

Megan, I can’t get over how STUNNING you are! And your girls are sweet little visions of you. Mary, I’m with you on the picture with all the back rolls! That one and the first two are my favorites 🙂 Those, and the one with his big sisters both looking at him (with the pennant banner in the background). Thanks for blessing us with such wonderful pictures of beautiful babes!
