My First Sleepover – As told by MJ

I had my first sleepover with Gramma and Grampa last night. We had a great time.

We played “Where’s the Monster?”

But Monsters don’t scare me … I’m tough.

I learn a lot from my Grampa … he taught me how to play cards.

“Go fish Grampa.”

He also taught me how to throw dice.  Grampa says it will come in handy when I’m 21.  I wonder what he means?

I got pretty good at it then Gramma walked in and told us we had to stop.  I told her “Noooooo Gramma, I don’t want to!”

We did other stuff too. Gramma has lots of hats so we role played. Grampa did too.

Hi Safari Man, do you need anything built?

[Sigh] Sydney, where were you when I needed you.

My favorite part of the night was the movie.  It was of my cousin Sydney.  She is so funny.

After the movie it was time for my bath. I like baths.

Gramma surprised me with some new jammies for my first sleepover. She said they had dogs on them, but I kept trying to tell her they were cows by sawing “Mooooo.” Silly Gramma. I had a snack with Grampa … mmmmm, peanut butter and bread, my favorite.

After my snack, I said my prayers …

… checked for Monsters … (twice, just to be sure) …

… then Gramma tucked me into my new comfy bed.

What! You mean you want me to sleep here — in this bed!  All night?! Alone?

M-O-M-M-Y!!!!

Gramma must be pretty smart ’cause she finally figured out that sleepovers were for snuggling together in the big guest bed. Phew! That was a close one!

After I got home I called Gramma and said “Gramma, can we do a sleepover again another time?”

And she said “Sure MJ, any time you want.”

“I love you Gramma.”

“I love you too MJ.”

OH MY HELL…that was perfect!!!! You narrated it adorably! My favorites were him in the wig sighing and checking under the bed for monsters. Hmmm…but I also loved him playing cards with Grampa…too many to choose from. And the pajamas? Do they come in girl ones? TOO CUTE!

BTW- you do make a pretty scary looking monster with those eyes!!! 😉

And just wait till I get my Monster on Sydney! Oh, you think those PJ’s are cute …. just wait, my lady, until Syd’s first sleepover. 😉 And just when can I expect that again? Love you, miss you more. MOM XXOO

Oh my, what a lucky little boy to have all those cute memories memorialized by his adoring grandma, who, by the way, does do a great monster face. Mr. Safari Man was pretty cute too.
