Megan and Leah – 38 Weeks

You’ve heard me tell you how MJ and Sydney are 10 weeks apart, and Jayden and Simone are three weeks apart, but did you know that there are close cousins on Robby’s side of the family as well? Robby’s brother, Danny and his sweet wife Leah, have Hannah who is 10 weeks younger than Simone, and now Leah and Megan are each having boys with due dates three days apart. Fun huh? So I suggested we get the girls together for some belly shots to commemorate these boys who will be bustin’ out soon. Do you see more newborn shots in my future? Oh yea, and looking forward to it. We shot these April 23, and as of this post (April 29) the girls now get to say they are due next week! Megan is due Friday, May 8 so ahhhhh! I’m going to have a new g-babe soon!!!

I’ll show you Leah’s pictures first, but first let me just say how impressed I am with both of these mommies. Megan is 32 and Leah 39 and just look how beautiful and in shape they are. Nice work girls.

Here’s the little girls, Simone within a few days of turning 3 here, and Hannah at 2-3/4 dressed in the same print without even knowing it! These girls did not want to sit for pictures, but each mom got a smile from them for the picture then off they went.

Baby Boy Gerichs has not made his name public yet. Stay tuned for the newborn shots to know!

Now here’s my crazy daughter. She dressed “tom boy” for the occasion, painted her nails blue (and I added the tiniest of a blue tint to Meg’s pictures to carry on that theme), and suggested this next pose. Luckily I got it in one shot because I was not doing it again! She’s tough this one. I heard from Megan that Sydney was a bit upset that she had to go to pre-school and miss pictures, but hey, Sydney got to be in Simone’s pregnancy pictures at this same location, so it’s only fair that Simone gets to be in Cole’s pregnancy pictures. I can justify anything … wonder if Syd will buy it.

I think I’m still convinced a little girl is going to pop out of there. Ha! I can’t wait to meet this little fellow and it’s still so weird to look at pictures of myself and know that I’m so pregnant! It’s gone all so very fast, and I’m so thankful to you that I have these awesome shots to remember it all by. I think my favorite is the one on the rock where I’m holding COLE and the COLE belly shot with words…and LOVE too. And the leaping to three picture- I think this caption would better fit it: “About to fall off a cliff having three kids.” Hee hee. I was showing Sydney the ones of her and I when I was pregnant with Simone and she wanted to know where the file was of when she was in my belly. I had to break it to her that it was weekly shots in Hawaii that weren’t at all cute, staged, professionally done, etc. 🙂 Thanks for taking extra time to get Leah and I together and capture this exciting time for us. Can’t wait to see him from behind your lens soon! I love you!!!

That’s funny Megan about the caption for the jump shot — what I was thinking myself after what your friends have been telling you. At least you HAVE pregnancy pictures of Sydney. You were so dedicated to that and her newborn pics are just the sweetest ever. I did the same thing of you kids – a picture a month of the changes. Our maternity clothes weren’t so cute then, but no one wore tight stuff like they do now. Your maternity pics of Simone hold special memories for me … my first maternity pics ever and you were just amazing. Sydney was a shy little thumb sucker back then. Just look at that girl now! Can’t wait to see Cole and how his personality might be different from the girls. Happy birthing!

Looking forward to meeting Cole.

Vince - April 30, 2015 - 12:17 PM

Mary, you know how much I love your work, but I also admire your imagination — these shots of Megan and Leah are so clever! I’m sure the kids you shoot have a great time posing for you, too.

And we can’t wait for you to meet him either Becky. It won’t be long now. (Or it could be another three weeks!)

Thanks Vince but guess what? A few ideas came from Pinterest — whoever invented that site was a genius. But I give myself credit for knowing how to do them after I see them. 🙂

Next week??? Already? Wow that went fast. Pregnancy looks good on those ladies! Excited to add another boy to the mix!

Yep, the girls will be outnumbered … you have time to have one more to even it out. 🙂

Aubrey - May 3, 2015 - 9:42 AM

I just got all caught up on your wonderful blog. You have been busy, Grandma! I love all the color and life and crispness you bring to these photo shoots. You have a gift and you use it well.

Fairly Candid - May 3, 2015 - 10:40 AM

Aubrey, so nice hearing from you! I check in on the Funny Farm now and then but haven’t seen much new lately. I miss it when you don’t. Thank you for your sweet comments and stay wonderful!

Rob - May 4, 2015 - 11:12 PM

Nice job again! I love the incorporation of letters. My favorite is the “love” photo. I saw a photo of Mone kissing the belly (on megan’s blog) and that one will be going up on our wall. Thanks for always taking such great photos for us!!

Well you know how to make a mom-in-law feel pretty special Robby. Thanks for taking the time to comment – now let’s have a new grandson shall we!

[…] next image is dedicated to Big Sis Sydney who didn’t get to be at the 38 Week photo session. Love you […]
