He gave me a struggle this one! He gave his momma a struggle too as she was a week overdue then pushed for over four hours before having to have a C-section! Maks, you rascal and Lacey, what a trooper! Maksim Matthew B. was born October 3 and weighed 8.7 lbs and was 21-1/4″ long. He’s a spittin’ image of his handsome daddy, Matt, if I ever saw one. He was two weeks old when I photographed him and almost two hours had gone by and I only had a handful of pictures! He wiggled and stretched and fussed a bit and did not want to give up that binkie. Lacey couldn’t have been more easy-going about it all and so we pressed forward … and prevailed! Congratulations, Matt and Lacey, on the beautiful boy God has blessed you with, and to our friends, Jim and Kathy … welcome to the Grandparent Club! It’s the best Club I know. 🙂
A big hug and thank you to my sister, Julie, who made the beautiful cocoon you see below, and thank you Maks for pooping in it before I even laid you down! Luckily I had a burp rag nearby, and luckily he pooped mostly through one of the holes — and right down my clothes — so for payback we still shot a few pictures, then washed him up. Oh my … babies! Thank goodness for washable yarn! And you’ll see a lot of this binkie because Maks loved it and he had a suction on it like none I’ve ever seen (and yes, I know it’s upside-down — something I managed to do in almost every picture!)
Let’s play “I Spy” as we look at this next picture. Remember that childhood game? What do YOU see?! Lacey said his daddy will be so proud. 🙂
The waterfall managed to wake him up … so I thought I’d get one with his eyes open … but there’s that binkie again so I tried to break the seal to take it out …
Nope, he’s not going for it but look at that cute button chin.
All right, you can have your binkie back Maks (sounds like a familiar jingle … “I want my binkie back, binkie back, binkie back”). ZZZZzzzzz.
The beautiful blanket you’ll see next was handmade by Lacey’s friend, Tawnee.
And this one was made by Matt’s Grandma, Katie Armstrong. Nice job ladies! Luckily for you, we used them last — after Maks was all peed and pooped out! Actually we were all pooped out after this session, but as always, I loved it! I think Maks is going to be quite the character one day … and I will find joy in hearing all about him. Thank you Lacey and Kathy for the honor of getting to photograph this beautiful and wonderful boy! Love, Mary
