If you haven’t seen pictures of my newest grandbaby yet, then today is your lucky day! I will admit the photo shoot was a hard one in many ways (Jayden didn’t like being naked, didn’t like being on his tummy, didn’t like going into a deep sleep for pictures, etc.), but even though the pictures aren’t what I had in mind when I started out, they ended up just perfect to me because he is absolutely perfect in every way. Welcome to our family little guy!
Jayden blessed us all on Easter Sunday, 4/8/12 at 1:29 pm. He weighed 8.6 lbs and was 20″ long. To see birth day pictures at the hospital, please go here. Our side of the family thinks he looks just like his dad, but there’s some of Danielle’s family in him too. One thing is for sure … he is his own little being — one that God created to be unique with no one else like him and I love that! I love him, I love his brother, and I love the wonderful parents that he has. Jayden Lane Mouser, you are one lucky kid. 🙂
Below is the beautiful afghan my sister Julie made for Jayden.
And below is the afghan my cousin Becky made for Jayden’s big brother MJ when he was born, and while you can’t really see it, the quilt behind was made by my mom — Great-Grandma Jo Jo.
Do you see any family resemblance in the photo above with the one below? Below is Matt’s hospital photo. When Matt was born I thought he looked just like Grampa Mouser. There is definitely some “little old man” looks in Jayden as well.
And here’s big brother, MJ, at 9 days old with the same sweet cowlicks.
“Who you callin’ a little old man?”
And this is fondly what is referred to as a “milk coma”.
We tried to get a picture of Jayden in this little Scottie dog tie … which would have possibly been adorable. It just didn’t happen. But what did happen was an unplanned shot of the love of a mother comforting her little one. There is a place for “portraits” but in my photography, I try to get candids of “life happening” as well.
And we can’t leave out the 2-1/2 year old happy big brother … although there have been some hours of some days that he’s not been quite so happy. This “sharing parents” business is for the birds! But he does love Jayden and he sits by him often while he’s in the swing, and strokes the side of his face, and when he’s really feeling loving, MJ plays his Easter harmonica for him … about one inch from his face. Jayden loves it, of course! Duh!
I was asked to paint a tree in Jayden’s room … my first (my last?) mural. It’s very interesting (if not a little Sleepy Hollow-ish) don’t you think? It’s growing on me.
MJ is such a character, charmer, energetic, playful little soul. I think my favorite thing about him is his brown eyes. His dad has blonde hair and blue eyes and his mom has brown hair and brown eyes. I’m so curious to see what color Jayden’s will turn out to be.
Kisses to all … with love, Gramma XXO
