Happy Valentine’s Day

Just a little treat that is oh so sweet! MJ is my oldest g-babe, born three years ago in October. He’s a smart little guy, using a rapid succession of words all through the day. 🙂 He loves to help me in the kitchen, loves playing police cars, fire trucks, and little people in “his” room (the grandkid room), and is usually up for a photo shoot. This particular day I had made these paper hearts and some fire hearts just for him and Jayden. They hung by fishing line and oh my, you would have thought I gave him the moon when he saw them. “Gramma, I yove these fire hearts. I yove them. Gramma, I yove them. I would yove to take them home to put in my room. Can I take them home to put in my room Gramma, cause I yove these fire hearts.”

Sydney turned three on New Year’s Day and she surprises me more each time I see her on how her thought process is growing. She is actually thinking beyond gym and lolly pops on some days. 🙂 On a day in January we had a playdate at my house with a friend’s granddaughter, Morgan, who is a few months older than Sydney. At first they struggled to play along side each other, and then Sydney asked “Gramma, are we going to have a photo time today?” Morgan chimed in with “I want my picture taken!” and while I wasn’t planning on it, how does one not take advantage of that! Those two girls giggled and laughed and had the best time, and this valentine is a result of that. Sweet and spunky is this little love of mine.

A quick shout out to my friend, Lorraine, who gave me the nicest surprise tonight when I opened my mail to find that she had taken the above pictures I sent her, turned them into a collage 5×7 Valentine, and mailed it back to me! How perfectly sweet and Valentiney is that! Thank you Lorrie!

Jayden is MJ’s very much loved little brother. He got his first two teeth at nine months and started taking his first solo steps then as well. He is now 10 months and loves being on his feet taking 7-10 steps on his own. He is a blue-eyed shy little lover, gives the best hugs (mostly to his deserving momma, but occasionally I get one too) and is still a little mini of my handsome son, Matt. While you can’t see it, his shirt has the words “Dr. Love” on it. He is.

Sweet Simone is Syd’s little sister and is my youngest g-babe at 9 months, born 3-weeks after Jayden. She has 7 (correction) 8 teeth and just learned to crawl. She is a happy little thing who is content to sit and play with just about anything and has little pincher fingers that can pick up the tiniest crumb or thread off the carpet. Is that a good thing? She is a happy girl who loves to clap and wave, has the most beautiful hair (you should have seen Syd’s crazy hair at that age — oh my) and her bright eyes and cheeky smile just make my day … any day of the week! Love. Love.

This next little girl is not a g-babe — of mine at least. She is the first and only granddaughter of my friend, Gloria, a friend from my Jr/Sr High School days. Her name is Lily and she just turned one on the 7th. You’ll see a few more pictures of her soon, but in light of Valentine’s Day, I just had to add this one. What a cutie! Gloria took my suggestion and made some valentine’s for her family using this photo, and mailed me one as well. I felt extra special so thank you Gloria!

May you all have a day where you share the love you have, receive love in return in a new way, and reach out to someone who needs a kind word to know they matter. Most of us are so fortunate to have family surround us, but not everyone does, so take a few minutes today to share a little love with someone around you.  Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Love, Mary

Oh man have I missed your blog- and what a sweet treat to check tonight and find these adorable lovey faces looking back at me! I love the individuality and thought you gave each kids’ commentary and I hope MJ is sporting fire hearts in his room!

BTW- we have 8 teeth and guess what I found in there when I was looking today? A MOLAR thinking about poking through. WHAT? Poor thing- sick and a molar! Tough little cookie, right?

Happy Valentines Day to you- so glad we’ll be getting to see you!

Mary I have tears in my eyes from looking at these darling
children! All of them are so cute. I would love to just
give them each a big bear hug. You and the other grandmas
and grandpas have such blessings. I’m glad they did such
a great job at letting you take their pictures. Kodoos to
the parents. Doing a great job all of you! Happy Valentines
Day to you all!

Oh Mary! Gloria gave me a copy of this picture last night and I’m completely enamored! She said that Lily was a little monster, so I’m shocked you got a smile out of her. (You should have seen her at her family birthday shin-dig. HORRIBLE ^_^ )
Thanks again, you definitely create magic!
