Well my kids Matt and Danielle pulled it off again — they brought a beautiful baby boy into the world at 1:29 PM Easter afternoon! He weighed 8.6, was 20″ long, and he gave his mom none of the labor problems his big brother did. Speaking of Big Brother … 2-1/2 year old MJ is so excited and couldn’t have been a better boy this morning and afternoon. I am respecting the tired but excited parents and will only post one picture, but please relive the day with me that welcomed my second grandson and third grandchild, Jayden Lane Mouser, into the world.
The kids were admitted into the hospital at 4:00 AM and Mike and I arrived at 5:30 AM (apparently not learning from MJ’s birth that sleep at our age is much more appealing in a bed than on the waiting room couch). Babies in our families don’t arrive in three hours like they do in some families so we could have stayed home a bit longer … but, it’s just all so exciting getting that call! We balanced our checkbooks, read books, watched Photoshop tutorials, took naps, prayed for the kids and visited M & D off and on in the room all before MJ and Grannie Angie came about 11:00.
Once they arrived, we had all kinds of entertainment with MJ. Angie had bought him a cute new shirt that had “Big Bro” on it and he was all excited when he got to the hospital … to go to that playground his folks had been telling him about that is. Priorities. Kids have priorities. So the Gramma’s took him to the playground while Grampa kept watch. The rest of the time we hung out in the waiting room reading books, watching cartoons and playing.
MJ is standing next to the monitor machines listening to Jayden’s heart beat. He has heard it often while accompanying his mom to her appointments. He never grew tired of it.
When we got the news that Jayden was here, MJ got to be the first to go back and spend time with his new family. After about 20 minutes a little blonde kid wearing blue bolted into the waiting room with a beam as big as Texas saying “I’m a big brother!” He ran right into Grampa’s arms.
The first arms Matt ran into were Grampa’s too.
Next it was our turn to go in. Jayden was wide awake and looking around. He had had his first meal and was as sweet as they come.
And if these two next pictures don’t say it all, I don’t know what does. A new big brother passing the “baby” title on to Jayden and keeping watch while the nurse checks his new “Lil Bro.”
And now, a few pictures from day two before going home from the hospital.
Happy Easter everyone. It sure was a happy one for us! Congratulations Matt and Danielle. You couldn’t have had a more beautiful son. We love you all so much! Love and hugs, Mom and Dad.
