Happy 3rd B-Day Jayden!

It happens whether you want it to or not, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it is bitter sweet … the g-babes getting older. Both Jayden and Simone turned three in April, Jayden on the 8th and Simone the 28th. This post will be about Jayden and his sweet side of tenderness and three sides of silly. He not only tries to be silly, but is silly even when he doesn’t try. He loves making funny faces these days and making up different endings to what he thinks is a silly joke. Gramma, why did the chicken cross the road? Why Jayden? Too get to my house. HA! HA! HA! (Said in a slow deep voice emphasizing each HA!) Gramma, why did the chicken cross the road? Why Jayden? To get the tractor. HA! HA! HA!, Gramma, why did the chicken cross the road? Why Jayden? To pull the couch in the house. HA! HA! HA! The nonsense chicken jokes go on and on and on. We laugh. It’s what grandparents do. 🙂

This first picture was taken at First Baptist Church’s Eggstravaganza and shows the joy that is both Jayden and Sydney, and it might also show where Jayden learned to make his funny faces (Danielle). Cracks me up.

He had a fun birthday at his house with a Spiderman Jump House (where he supposedly looked up and said I see Spiderman’s penis), then we went to Red Robin for his actual birthday where he hid under the table when the waiters came to sing. He was as silly as he could be the whole dinner hour.

After his birthday he was in the hospital for part of a day to have surgery on his tongue. He was a champ and hardly knew what hit him except he had to eat soft foods for a week.

He’s in soccer and the first week was a little iffy, although he loved that his cousins came for support.

We love to go to Jump Time and Danik Gym together where he loves jumping and can be fearless at times, and he always loves playgrounds and his own swing set.

It wears him out. That’s a good thing.:-)

We had the boys for an overnight last week when Danielle was out of town and Jayden painted this for his mom for when she got home.

Last weekend we took a drive with our Mouser kids to the old Ranch House we used to rent from Mike’s cousin, Clare, in Hill City. He gave this rope to Jayden and you would have thought he won the lottery. Pretty cute cowboy this one. The trip was also used for family pictures for these country-at-heart kids of mine.

No doubt Matt said something corny in this next picture about how he likes to be tied up or something. It got a good reaction from Danielle anyway. 🙂

7 years and as in love as ever.

This next one makes me smile because it’s almost as if it’s Jayden’s joke on his family that they goofed off and he didn’t.

And this last one from our outing that day proves it’s so easy being a 3-year old boy.

And last but not least, we finally got Jayden out for his one-on-one Birthday adventure with Grampa and I Monday night to take him fishing then back to Red Robin so he could have his favorite fruit (mandarin oranges and mixed fruit). I interviewed him a little first just for fun. He never once hesitated and never once said “I don’t know” but some of these answers are pretty off the wall. That’s our Jayden.

Jayden, what is your favorite food? Um, fish. What is your favorite color? Um, pink. What do you want to be when you grow up? A witch because they have a broom and he flies. What do you like to do with mommy and daddy? Um, draw. What is your favorite thing to draw? Um, monsters. They have sharp claws that I can’t draw very much. Then he came in all serious like at one point and said Gramma, sorry I jumped on my head yesterday. Sorry. Did. You fell on your head? Yep, yesterday. Sorry. Did. He told me that a few times, and he was sorry each time. I’m not sure what that was all about but he’s just a sweet boy who is carefree and loves life and we couldn’t be more in love with him. While fishing, Grampa’s pole – that was sitting idle – had a bite while he was helping Jayden with his fish. Jayden said Poppa (a new word for Grampa lately), did your fishing pole caught a fish? I may not fish, but there was some pretty special moments caught on my camera. Love you Jayden. Love you Grampa. Sorry. Do. 🙂

What?! You just posted that gorgeous senior yesterday, so I was patiently waiting until next week for this post! Love all of the silly moments captured of that silly little boy of mine, and LOVE LOVE all of our family pictures!! I do have to say that out of all of the pics posted on this particular post, my favorite pictures are the ones of Jay and Grandpa fishing. Takes me back to when I got to do the same thing with my grandpa, and those are such great memories. Thanks for being such amazing grandparents 🙂 Love you guys!!

Thank you Cody. You know what it’s like … you get the same enjoyment out of Ruby, and now little Hazel.

Bobbi - April 29, 2015 - 8:59 AM

Such a gift, Mary! Your posts make my day! Thanks for sharing the love, silliness and happiness of your g-babies 🙂

Becky - April 29, 2015 - 10:28 AM

He’ll thank you one day for the peeing on the fence picture — NOT. You have a beautiful family and these pictures reflect that.

Fairly Candid - April 29, 2015 - 10:55 AM

Bobbi, nice to hear from you! Please stay in touch ok. What a special lady you are.

Auntie Meg - April 29, 2015 - 8:32 PM

If this post doesn’t make a 39 week Auntie cry, nothing will. It probably doesn’t help that Sam Smith’s “How Will I Know” song is playing on my computer, I’m exhausted and this nephew of mine is seriously the cutest 3 year old boy in the world. I loved it all- his crazy faces, the family pictures which were AMAZING (the one of them making faces and all roped up better make it on the walls!) and the last pictures of him fishing. Oh, and the peeing one. I love how he says “Auntie” and then gives me a sweet look and how much he loves big cousin Sydney and how he calls for her when we’re hanging out. Deary me, I don’t know if I am picturing Cole growing up or just relishing in the adorableness of this little flirt, but it’s all too much. I need a Kleenex.

Fairly Candid - April 29, 2015 - 9:23 PM

Oh my little pregnant daughter. I get the same way sometimes over the babes and I’m not even pregnant, so there’s no chance for you to not need a Kleenex I suppose! Sweet words over the little blondie. Love Mom

Becky, I know, right? I debated … but it’s what boys do! Looking forward to catching up with you after your cruise. Lucky cousin that you are!

Lacey - April 30, 2015 - 6:03 PM

Oh my heavens! Jayden is such a spit fire! I love that kid (and this whole family)! I LOVE the family pictures! Mary you are incredibly talented!!!

Fairly Candid - April 30, 2015 - 9:46 PM

Thank you Lacey 🙂 The countryside definitely added a nice element — it’s wasn’t all me by any means. Thank you for loving my family. You’re definitely a special part of it too.
