Hannah Elise Gerichs was born July 9 at 10:54 pm and would you believe she weighed 10.7 pounds and was 21.5″ long. She was photographed at a perfect age of just 9 days old. Her mom had quite the struggle with this first baby after being two weeks overdue, but she’s here now and absolutely perfect in every way (and I’m not even a parent or a grandparent!) Congratulations to the new parents, Leah and Danny, Oma and Opa, Auntie Megan, Uncle Robby, and all the rest of the family. This photo session was a gift from Megan to Leah for her baby shower, and while Danny wanted to be here in the worst way, he had to leave for Alaska the day before but will return soon to scoop up his new family to take them back with him. (I’m envisioning the smile on your face, Danny, when you look at these.) While we pawned Sydney off to play with Great-Grandma Jo for the morning, Megan and Simone came along for the fun (and to fix us lunch) and with Hannah being so cooperative, we just kept taking pictures! She’s a little frowner, this one, and as long as I didn’t try to pose her in a position she didn’t like, she just slept like a baby. 🙂
This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home, this little piggy ate roast beef, while this little piggy had none, and this little pig cried wee, wee, wee, all the way home.
Hey wait! What’s this cute girl doing in Hannah’s post?! Well, I told you Simone came along, and while little cousin was having a little drinky-drinky, this little one just happened to be nearby so I scooped her up and got a few shots. Simone and her cousin Hannah are about 10 weeks apart, just the same distance Sydney and MJ are. Isn’t it fun she’ll have a playmate when the Gerichs’ families get together.
Leah brought along some special stuffed animals and this cute hat gifted from a friend. It was a very light weight one, but still it made her brow sag. So cute and so funny.
This next one is hands down one of my favorites. This $10 purple blanket is the best purchase I ever made and with the special story that is attached to gator (gifted from a teacher friend with a written story that involved the family), my guess it will be one of Leah’s as well.
Hanna was done with pictures, we were all tired, the house was a wreck, but we had so much fun! “So Hannah, any chance we can get one last picture with your cousin?” “No way!” But I did it anyway. Hey, sometimes you don’t always get what you want. Just sayin’.
