When MJ and Syd were 8 and 6 months old, I had professional photos taken at O2Photography by Jennifer Oates. The first photo below, believe it or not, is still my computer screen saver, not to mention a $200 11×14 on my wall in the living room. I can’t tell you how much I love that picture and no money was too much for it. Now Jayden and Simone are just passing those ages at 8 and almost 9 months and I wanted one of them in a similar pose taken by myself. The session was sheer chaos, joy, triumph, and tears all in one session. MJ and Sydney got in the fun too, meaning they were “big helpers” if you know what I mean, and just wanted to be where the action was … in front of my lens, in front of my light, behind the background. I admit my frustrations were running a bit high, but in looking back, I am so happy these kids all wanted to be there with me. Little Jay-D-Bug was having a bit of a struggle because Mommy wasn’t there, and he really loves his Mommy, so he wasn’t much into picture taking. I was watching the boys for a few hours, and Megan wanted some pictures of the matching outfits by Granny Jo Jo, so I had Danielle drop off the boys matching clothes from her as well. Sydney just turned three, and yet I did not get one picture of just that girl alone with her new haircut, nor did I get one of the four of them all together. Remember I started out saying it was sheer chaos? Pictures don’t always happen the way we want them to, but in looking back, it sure is wonderful to have the ones we get!
The session started off pretty good and did you notice Jayden is wearing MJ’s shirt above?
But Jayden wanted to crawl away.
So Auntie sat him back down in the picture.
But Jayden didn’t want to be in the picture!
So Simone tried to calm him.
But she may not have done it the best way.
Poor Jayden. How about a bottle of milk?
So while Jayden was having some milk, Simone took the stage alone. She just turned 8 months and doesn’t crawl so she stays where we put her which is great!
She enjoyed all the amenities of the new backdrop and props my son and daughter-in-law made me for Christmas. Cool, huh? I love it!!!
And here she is sporting the new hat my cousin Becky made her for Christmas. So so cute, both the hat and the baby. 😉
Sydney is just a joyful girl in front of the camera and I love this picture so much.
I love it so much I had to make it black and white too!
I wish you could see the back and sides of Syd’s hair. The girl was made for this haircut. She just turned 3 on New Year’s Day and doesn’t she look older all of a sudden?
The girls (Megan too) got matching homemade hats and scarves from my sister Julie for Christmas. I know! Too much cuteness all in one post. Sorry, I just can’t help it.
Well look who’s back for more! Jayden, in the one and only picture I got of him alone. Jayden and Simone were both actually 8 months old this day … but on January 8th he’ll turn 9 months. He crawls and walks around everything and is bound to take off walking soon. Needless to say, his crawling made it harder for my picture taking, so I had to get inventive.
MJ is such a talkative sweet boy. He is so inquisitive and wants to know about everything.
Ahhh, I just want to pinch these boys!!!! Hold me back!
Jayden is happy now so let’s try this again. “Simone, you stop that!”
“Who me? I wasn’t doin’ nothin’.”
