32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 8: Shopping (4 photos)
I have been working on a session of the cutest one-year old twins boys I shot the end of November, so allowed myself only one hour to run to the Mall to shoot this challenge with nothing but my 50mm lens using natural light. I found a parking space right up close. Hmm, that’s unusual this time of year. I wasn’t sure what my end goal was, but then I usually don’t when I start. Maybe a customer with tons of packages? Trouble is, I could hardly find any customers, let alone ones laden with gifts. The Mall was pretty dead at 1:30. I did run across two spiffy-looking gentlemen from the Marine Corps Reserves who let me take their picture, however, and in appreciation will be taking a Toy for Tots next time I return to the Mall. Cute story about the Marines is that the one on the left had a serious smile while the one on the right said to him under his breath “you smiling?” which of course made him do so. Thanks guys for all you do (and if you contact me I’ll send you a copy).
I thought I would get a view of the crowd from above, but again, I came up short … well sort of. I’m married though, so of course “I” would never be attracted to someone on a billboard. Come on, seriously people!
I did find a nice hat store called Capz where I actually found a customer shopping from their hundreds of cool choices. Okay, it’s not really a customer … I had to ask the store clerk named Dan to pose for me, but if it were a customer, he would love the variety, and it is a cool picture, right?
So, it’s 18 days till Christmas. Where the heck is everyone? Is everybody really that much more organized than I am to have their shopping done? Maybe.
Wait! I hear something!
Laughter I think.
I round the corner.
I see them!
Mmmm, maybe, but I don’t see any packages.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Perhaps shopping will follow …
Merry Christmas everyone and may all your wishes come true!
