Day 11: On the Shelf

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 10: On the Shelf.

I don’t even know what to say about today’s challenge except that I found it the hardest of all so far. I might even have gone so far as to say “why did I sign up for this stupid challenge anyway?” It was a momentary lapse I assure you. I have many shelves in my house and right now I have my Christmas things out and many of them were once my mother-in-law’s who passed away in 2004. She was a collector of some very fun Christmas decorations, these paper mache Santa’s and elves but a few of them. Today was the first day I shared the theme with Mike and when he saw I was struggling with it, he said I should do “Sh-elf”. Get it. “On the Sh-Elf” using an elf on the shelf … of course you got it, but I thought it was a terribly lame idea since I already did an elf picture. So then he says “you should make a collage.” So I actually thought that was a great idea so I pulled out my Photoshop Elements book and went to work taking pictures of things on my shelves and putting them into a collage. Only problem is that more than an hour later I hated everything I did so kept “Cmd Z”ing everything. That’s Undo in Mac talk for you folks not in the know. Soooo, in the end I have a “On the Sh-elf Collage” (of two pictures) … not my dream picture by any means but I’ll bet it makes my hubby smile that I actually used his ideas! I should get points for that, right? Love you Mike. Are you smiling!:-)

Cute idea – and you did great. I suspect that your “trashed” photos were most likely ones us amateurs would love.

This picture is adorable. I love all your pictures in this challenge! We (yes that means you too!) can be our own worse critics. Love you Mary and your pictures! They really are great! Great idea Mike!

When I saw this picture I was wondering how you got the “Merry Christmas” sign so small!

Nice TEAM work. Remember, there is no “I” in team. Wink-wink.
