Dan and Leah’s Wedding – Part 1 [The Families]

I got the honor of taking pictures at a really beautiful wedding on June 22 of Dan and Leah Gerichs. Dan is an older brother to my son-in-law, Robby, so it was such fun to be in the company of this entire family again. As another bonus, I got to meet Leah’s family, every bit as nice. The wedding was held in Bruneau at the amazing property of Leah’s cousins, Carol and Don Collins, and the weather couldn’t have been more cooperative. The famous winds of Bruneau were tucked away for another day and the sky was blue with a warm sun. All the touches Leah (and Dan) did for this wedding were so inviting, creative, beautiful, and fun, and even though they worked their hineys off getting everything set up, they appeared cool, calm and collected — and very much in love. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you this is their second wedding — to each other! You see they married well over a year ago in Vegas, and married this time for the traditional church ceremony. They also have the cutest little Hannah that got to be flower girl/ring bearer with her cousin Sydney. Soooo cute this baby (and I know cute!). Leah’s dress looked amazing on her … custom made just for her after she bought the fabric months ago. And Dan looked pretty smashing in his floral tie and suspenders as well. I took hundreds of images over the course of the day, so while I whittle away at them on the computer this week and next, I thought I would post them in batches. This first batch will be some of the beautiful wedding touches, as well as Leah and Dan’s first look at one another, followed by the families of these two fine people. Let’s go!

“THE REVEAL”

AS DAN WAITED OUTSIDE, LEAH MADE HER WAY OUT FROM THE HOUSE TO HIM.

+ + + +

INSERTED BELOW ARE SOME OF THE FAMILIES OF THESE TWO FINE PEOPLE. YOU’LL MEET LEAH’S MOM VIVIAN, SISTER KAY, DAD GEORGE, AND GRANDMA BETTY. ON DAN’S SIDE YOU’LL MEET HIS FOLKS JOE AND ELLI, HIS THREE BROTHERS MIKE, STEVE, AND ROBBY, AND THEIR FAMILIES (MISSING ONE MEMBER). TO VIEW THESE IMAGES, CLICK ON ANY BOX, THEN SIMPLY USE THE FORWARD AND BACK ARROW KEYS ON YOUR KEYBOARD TO NAVIGATE.

NEXT UP IS THE MAID OF HONOR, SARAH TAYLOR, AND BROTHER ROBBY AS BEST MAN.

AND SHOWN LAST (BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST) ARE LEAH’S COUSINS, CAROL AND DON COLLINS, WHO HAVE BEEN STEWARDS OF THEIR 10 ACREAS FOR THE PAST 21 YEARS. THE PROPERTY BELONGED TO HER GREAT-GRANDFATHER, THEN WAS PASSED DOWN TWO MORE TIMES BEFORE THEY BOUGHT THE PLACE. THEY ARE SOME PRETTY GENUINE AND HARD-WORKING PEOPLE AND I ENJOYED MY VISIT WITH THEM OVER THE COURSE OF A FEW DAYS A GREAT DEAL.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING WITH LOTS OF FAMILY!

UP NEXT: THE BRIDE, GROOM, AND HANNAH PORTRAITS.

The pictures are all just fabulous and I am not sure I have a favorite they are all so nice but I did really enjoy the picture of the brothers where Robbie has the sunglasses in his back pocket. The Dad connection.

Beautiful pictures, Mary. What a special day. I love this type of wedding with country chic touches, adore that guestbook idea, and that bride’s dress!!! Swoon.

Thank you Vivian for your nice comment. It sure was a beautiful wedding and I loved the beautiful dresses in your family … great colors too! I was a few shots in when I noticed the glasses in Robby’s back pocket and while I gave a second’s thought to editing them out, I decided they told a story and should be left in.
