Trevor and Libby Wedding (They Eloped!)

It was a first for me, and certainly a first for them … a beautiful courthouse wedding on New Year’s Eve for Trevor and Libby who have been dating nearly a year. Jason and Christine set them up — and just for the record these two set up my daughter and son-in-law’s first meeting too — […]

Beautiful!! Seeing these pictures definitely fills a void and gives me a glimpse into your special day. I see a side of my son that I’ve never seen before and I know it comes from a deep love for sweet Libby. Love you both, Mom

Sandra Thompson - January 9, 2016 - 6:31 PM

So much happiness! I cried just looking at the pictures. Just call me a silly old and happy Grandma. You know how much we love you Trevor and now we have a granddaughter, Libby to love. Grandpa and I wish the two of you a long happy life together.

Aunt Karen - January 11, 2016 - 7:23 AM

Now I feel like I was at the wedding, tears and all. Thank you for the beautiful narrative and gorgeous pictures!

Tracey - January 11, 2016 - 8:00 AM

Mary this was one of your best sessions of the 2015 year. What a lovely couple. God Bless them and may they have many many happy years ahead of them. I hope their family’s weren’t too upset not getting to be there. You took just the right pictures so they could feel like they were there. Thank you Trevor and Libby for letting Mary share your photos. You are a lovely couple.

Fairly Candid - January 11, 2016 - 10:00 AM

Libby, Tracy is a co-worker of mine at the law firm and I appreciate her thoughts as I know you will. Thank you Tracy for your kind words. I love reading the family comments towards the new bride and groom as well. So sweet. Mary

Christine Ellis - January 11, 2016 - 5:02 PM

Mary, the pictures turned out so beautiful! I love love love the one of Trevor kissing Libby’s forehead!! I love how you took pictures of everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary…it was a beautiful day!

Fairly Candid - January 11, 2016 - 5:49 PM

Thank you Christine for asking me and for having the faith in me to do this, and for the fun you helped to create for Libby and Trevor with your excitement. It was all so fun. I have a friend in her early 60’s who wants to hire you for a love match. Know any older single gentlemen. 🙂 Love, Mary

Shirley Unruh aka G'ma - January 12, 2016 - 10:54 AM

These great photos/photographer made a surreal occasion genuine. God answered our prayers for our darling grand daughter💕

Libby Phillips - January 16, 2016 - 10:19 AM

Mary, thank you for so beautifully capturing our special day! Trevor & I feel like we’re two of the most un-photogenic people so we would have been excited to only have one good picture. Because of you, there are so many great ones to choose from!! Thank you! We received the cd you mailed with all the photos and we’re so excited to share some of them on the wedding announcements we’ll be mailing. Thank you for making it possible for us to share the beginning of our Happily Ever After with our friends & family.

Fairly Candid - January 17, 2016 - 3:03 PM

Libby, you are so welcome and it was my joy to have the opportunity to photograph you. Thank you and your families for the kind words above. They made my day. Happy life, Mary

Thomas and Jamie’s Wedding

On Saturday, July 11th, I got the fun of photographing Thomas and Jamie’s beautiful, fun, wet, and relaxed wedding and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more! While I didn’t know anyone in this family when I came –except for the mother of the groom — Lynn whom I work with at Hawley Troxell — I didn’t […]

Vince - July 29, 2015 - 1:48 AM

Now that’s my kind of wedding (minus the rain) — outdoors, casual, country flavor. The cake looks good, too. Beautiful job as always, Mary.

Fairly Candid - July 29, 2015 - 9:19 AM

Thanks Vince, it was a nice wedding. I was a little perplexed on when and where to do some family photos with all the wetness, but everyone was so relaxed and easy-going about it all. Nice people for sure.

Lynn - July 30, 2015 - 3:08 PM

Mary, great photos, great blog, great day all in all! Thanks for capturing it so well.

Lynn

Fairly Candid - July 31, 2015 - 9:05 PM

Thank you Lynn, it was a great event. Congratulations to your family and thank you for inviting Mike to come and to join in your yummy dinner as well.

Aubrey - September 5, 2015 - 9:15 AM

This whole event is swoon-worthy. What a delight!

Dan and Leah’s Wedding – Part 4 [The Reception]

Let the party begin! It all culminates to this doesn’t it … the reception! Dan and Leah had everything in order for their guests to be as comfortable as possible. Shade from a warm day, a country-cozy theme with lanterns hanging from the trees and flowers in mason jars on every table. The buffet was […]

Megan - July 8, 2013 - 1:39 PM

Congratulations on a job more than well done. So fun to look at all these smiling faces and remember the fun we had! Of course I was dying over #83 of Syd looking up, and my other favorite was of Sara and John- what a sweet photo…was that organic or planned?

You do amazing work- so glad they chose you to document their day!

Dad - July 8, 2013 - 6:16 PM

What a fantastic job. I’m just saying I think you have a talent for this. The pros that look at these pics won’t respond because they are jealous. I’m not bias either.

Dan and Leah’s Wedding – Part 3 [The Church]

Dan and Leah re-married at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Bruneau on June 22 (after marrying in a civil ceremony over a year ago). This little church had me concerned. It was small and dark (but the church let me keep the doors open which helped some — the rest was saved with ISO 6400 […]

Dan and Leah’s Wedding – Part 2 [Dan, Leah, Hannah]

We met around 3:30 for the formal family pictures you saw in Part 1, and then I had a little time to take Dan and Leah’s pictures before heading to the little church just down the street for a 5:00 ceremony. There was a pond with two geese, a dock on the pond, and a […]

What a beautiful little family!!! How I loved all the ones of my sweet little niece (and who wouldn’t?!)

The 2nd picture of Leah looking into the camera is by far my favorite- she looks so renaissance and lovely there and Danny smiling at her is just the quintessential wedding picture. Also, the 5th one of her pulling his suspenders…raar! So fun!!!

dad - July 2, 2013 - 6:30 PM

I can’t believe the QUALITY of the pics. It would make any professional look like an amature. What great pics. All of them . Great job.

Fairly Candid - July 2, 2013 - 6:43 PM

Oh, and you’re not biased in any way are you honey. 🙂

Dan and Leah’s Wedding – Part 1 [The Families]

I got the honor of taking pictures at a really beautiful wedding on June 22 of Dan and Leah Gerichs. Dan is an older brother to my son-in-law, Robby, so it was such fun to be in the company of this entire family again. As another bonus, I got to meet Leah’s family, every bit […]

Lovely, absolutely lovely. It was so fun to watch you ‘work’ that day- you’re amazing!

Megan - June 26, 2013 - 1:30 PM

P.S. Favorite picture of this post: Leah and Vivian looking at each other smiling.

Vivian - June 30, 2013 - 2:13 PM

The pictures are all just fabulous and I am not sure I have a favorite they are all so nice but I did really enjoy the picture of the brothers where Robbie has the sunglasses in his back pocket. The Dad connection.

Aubrey Archuleta - June 30, 2013 - 2:27 PM

Beautiful pictures, Mary. What a special day. I love this type of wedding with country chic touches, adore that guestbook idea, and that bride’s dress!!! Swoon.

Fairly Candid - June 30, 2013 - 8:37 PM

Thank you Vivian for your nice comment. It sure was a beautiful wedding and I loved the beautiful dresses in your family … great colors too! I was a few shots in when I noticed the glasses in Robby’s back pocket and while I gave a second’s thought to editing them out, I decided they told a story and should be left in.

Blake and Sara’s Wedding

Blake and Sara just got married and guess who was the actual hired photographer! Ok, so some of you have heard me say “I don’t shoot weddings” and that would be true … by there’s always exceptions in life and this was one of them. For me, there are too many “what ifs” and things […]

Mary, OMG….I’m speechless by all the wonderful photos you captured! Priceless, perfect and memories of a lifetime for Blake & Sara as well as the whole family! I so thank you for being such a wonderful friend to take on this special project. Sara Wickham - October 15, 2012 - 9:17 PM

OMG Mary!!!! I don’t know where to begin! The pictures capture the day absolutely PERFECTLY!! You did an outstanding job and this is all so much more than I expected! The pictures are beautiful and I know you worked SO hard on that day for us. I cannot thank you enough for memorializing our wedding day and for capturing the love that we feel for each other so accurately. I know I was not the easiest bride to work with in the beginning >_> (nerves got the best of me ^_^) but I LOVE that you were able to capture such a change in me from before the wedding to when I was with Blake again. I think those pictures tell a beautiful and unique story that perfectly defines our relationship. Thank you again SO very much for being such a talented photographer and for letting our wedding be your first! I hope it was a great experience for you because Blake and I could not be more thrilled with the results!!

Fairly Candid - October 15, 2012 - 9:20 PM

Couldn’t wait till the morning I see. Hee hee. Wasn’t sure how you could have. Glad you love them. So happy I got to do this for your family. Love you right back. Me

Fairly Candid - October 15, 2012 - 9:26 PM

Ok, you made me tear up with your sweet note. Like I told you at the hotel, I was a nervous bride too so I COMPLETELY understood what you were dealing with. Everything went pretty smoothly, with a few hiccups on my end that I expected being my first wedding and all, but it was a good experience and your day was great. I hear such wonderful things from Gloria about all of you and I felt so comfortable with the two of you from the very get-go. There were times this past year when I said “why did I agree to do a wedding!” but you know what? I’m glad I did after seeing the pictures, and I’m glad it was for you.

Dawn Wickham - October 15, 2012 - 10:41 PM

Mary, these are absolutely amazing. There are photographers that have been doing weddings for 20 years and haven’t been able to achieve shots like these. You really have the talent and I honestly think you should continue doing them! Thank you so much for being there for Blake and Sara and for the rest of our family. These photos mean the world to every last one of us.

Fairly Candid - October 15, 2012 - 10:54 PM

Wow Dawn, that’s so kind of you! Should another opportunity come along, I promise to give it some thought. 🙂

Tracey - October 16, 2012 - 8:36 AM

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom, Congratulations to the Parents for raising such wonderful families. Congratulation to the parents for 33 years, and I hope you have a whole lot more happy anniversaries. Best Wishes to all! Mary you’re the best and don’t doubt yourself. It was hard work but you can’t tell it by the pictures. They are quite professional. I hope to see more wedding photos in our future with Fairly Candid!

Fairly Candid - October 16, 2012 - 9:55 AM

Thanks Tracey! It WAS hard work — especially culling and editing pictures afterwards when there are so many. It all takes time, but now a memory in time, right? Now on to editing three other photo shoots taken since the wedding. Never a dull moment around here anymore. 🙂

Christine - October 16, 2012 - 1:26 PM

Megan - October 16, 2012 - 3:34 PM

Hate to be the one to tell you this…but if you don’t want weddings on your list, you shouldn’t have posted these. You did an AMAZING, fantastic job!!! I can’t believe it…I mean, I know you’re good and all- but WOW. Like you always used to tell Dad- “You never cease to amaze me.”

Mary Mouser! You are simply amazing! We can’t thank you enough for capturing so many special moments at the wedding! I can’t help but grin as I scroll through the pictures; I especially love the shot of Robby catching the two “grands” up in his arms as they race down the aisle. In my mind, I can hear the laughter and giggles, my smile stretches across my mouth as I take the memories in . . . thank you, dear friend!

Kathy Grover - August 3, 2011 - 11:46 PM

Looking at those pictures just made my day (or night as the case may be.) There was a lot of joy, family togetherness, happiness in the presence of dear friends, communion with the saints that have gone on before and hope for the future in the faces of those darling kids. Your feel for composition helps; I’m a big fan of technical skills and boy are your skills developed. But the joy in the pictures comes through so strong that I couldn’t help from feeling joy myself.

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - August 4, 2011 - 3:07 AM

Well thank you Kathy! Love to hear that emotion is coming through … there was alot of it! 🙂
