Day 26: Toy

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 26: Toy. With four g-babes and four other young kids in the family, there was no shortage of toys unwrapped on Christmas day at our family celebration (of 24 adults and 8 kids)! We got to my daughter’s house in the morning with breakfast and gifts in hand to celebrate […]

I think the whole family loves it. We moved it out of the cave last night- something that great needs large playing space in the family room. 😉 Thanks again!

Day 25: Unwrapped

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 25: Unwrapped. Oh this theme is a fun one and I could spend all Christmas Day coming up with pictures for it I’m sure. I may add to this post later, but for now I am doing this post Christmas Eve night so that, as always, it will post on the […]

The gifts were awesome. Phew! Really thought baby.

Aubrey - December 29, 2012 - 4:44 PM

Brilliant homemade gifts! Cannot wait to see some baby cheeks in action on that backdrop.

Excellent choice for your theme!

Linda J. - December 21, 2012 - 10:51 AM

I love that the holy family is front and center and clear and the presents and especially the one with Santa paper are faded into the background. That is as it should be–keeping the holy, miraculous birth of Jesus front and center of all of our celebrations. I pray we do not forget the true reason for this season. Your photo perfectly illustrates this truth. Thanks, Mary.

your Man - December 21, 2012 - 5:09 PM

You hit it right on the button again. Your insight is so right on!

Day 20: Furry Faces

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 20. Furry Faces. He was 14 when he died suddenly and unexpectedly this fall, found in a comfy-looking stretched out position next to our neighbor’s house. He hadn’t come home the night before which was unusual, but not really alarming since he had sometimes stayed out too late before, especially […]

Wonderful ‘ode to Nelson. He was a very pretty kitty.

Megan - December 20, 2012 - 8:33 AM

It was freshman year at South…and I stopped liking him after he grabbed my butt at a dance. 😉 Please don’t post that, tho!

Sweet words about that silly cat. For the record, you were the only one he loved also. 😉

Fairly Candid - December 20, 2012 - 8:44 AM

Nope, I won’t post that Megan … it will just be between you and me. 😉

Sheila Clark - December 20, 2012 - 9:02 AM

He looks like our Tommy Boy kitty who we’ve had for 9 years. What a sweet kitty. So sorry for your loss.

Katie - December 20, 2012 - 9:42 AM

Oh, I love it!

your Man - December 20, 2012 - 7:20 PM

I really do miss Nelson too. Oh did I just say that? I was just kidding.

Day 19: Light

32 Day Photo Challenge: Day 19: Light. Light is the major component of a photograph. If you don’t have any light, you don’t have a picture! A light source can come from anywhere … ambient light from the sun or moon, from street lights, candlelight, a cell phone, the oven with the door open … […]

Stunning, Mom!

Linda J. - December 19, 2012 - 10:59 AM

Wow, that is a BEAUTIFUL photo. I drive by it every night on my way to the gym and it is a stunning scene. I’m surprised there haven’t been accidents in front of it from all the folks taking their eyes off the road to experience it.

Bobbi - December 19, 2012 - 2:12 PM

This was truly Awesome, Mary!

your Man - December 19, 2012 - 4:23 PM

Who needs light. You light up my world babe!

Fairly Candid - December 19, 2012 - 4:29 PM

Thanks everyone! And to my man all I can say is “ooh la la!” Love you Babe.

Kathy - December 20, 2012 - 3:21 AM

Nice pic! Thanks for the lesson, you make it sound so easy! Love the lights and the lighting of the Capitol

kathy Norwood - December 20, 2012 - 7:31 AM

Great tutorial! Love seeing the capital building and tree all lit up.

Fairly Candid - December 20, 2012 - 8:13 AM

Thanks Kathy! I imagine Texas has some pretty awesome decorations up around your state. They do everything BIG, don’t they? 🙂 This tree is absolutely the biggest tree I’ve ever seen and no kidding has a billion lights on it. They go up, down, around, sideways — I pity the poor soul(s) who has to take them down and untangle them because it will take them two months, no joke! Merry Christmas! Mary

Day 18: It’s Cold Outside

32 Day Photo Challenge: Day 18: It’s cold outside. I worked all day today then spent a wonderful evening with my friends over dinner before talking the night away, so while it was cold outside, I didn’t take any pictures. Instead, I am pulling one from the archives taken March, 2011 in front of my […]

I am cold just looking at the picture! I just love the look of a beautiful snowfall.

Megan - December 18, 2012 - 10:11 PM

Such a gorgeous picture. So glad I wasn’t walking in it.

The look on Charlie’s face when he saw the list was priceless. Loved every minute of the Santa visit!
