I Heart Faces Photo Challenge – “Everyday Life”

I volunteer taking pictures for church several times a year and this was taken this month. This little blonde cutie was in Sunday School and she brought her Jesus Storybook Bible along. She saw my camera and gave this sweet little smile. Now smile your way through the other everyday special moments over at I Heart […]

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge “Best Face of 2014”

Sydney is Simone’s older sister who turned 5 on New Year’s day. For her birthday we arranged to take her out for her one-on-one birthday adventure with Grampa and I to get ribs and visit the Aquarium (her choices). When we went to pick up Sydney and were ready to leave, Simone who is 2-½, […]

Oh Mary! Simone looks so much like her Mother in this picture. Love it. Great job.

Cody Myers - January 7, 2015 - 8:13 AM

What a little doll! Precious picture Mary, she has a very good chance of winning! 🙂 Cody

Megan - January 7, 2015 - 8:16 AM

There’s definitely some spitfire behind those sweet eyes!!!

Linda J. - January 7, 2015 - 9:24 AM

She is adorable and that is a terrific picture. Little ones do say exactly the thought that is running through their heads at that moment. Once I asked Carson when he was about 2, “I don’t think you like my hugs or when I mess with your hair.” He answered is deep little monotone voice, “No, not so much, but I like Poppy.” I guess Poppy didn’t try to show affection as much and he appreciated it. He was just so cute, I couldn’t help but try!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge “Beautiful Eyes”

I photographed some cousins this summer and Payton was the oldest of the bunch. She is a sophomore and a natural beauty and a sweet one at that — no fuss and muss before coming and she didn’t primp during the session either. I’m not even sure she realized how striking she was which made her even […]

“Framed” – I Heart Faces Photo Challenge

Framing is so fun to do in pictures. You can of course take a picture through “a frame” or frame your subject in a way that causes them to be the focus of attention in other ways. You can put them behind an object such as a wire fence and shoot through the squares, frame […]

Happy Mommy - January 1, 2013 - 6:02 AM

This is my favorite post of the whole year. Thank you. I think you summed it up best when you said- “We thought she was getting so big as a two year old … she was just a baby.”

Fun to see your favorites and relive the year through them. So many good times with that little sweet pea we have.

I need a Kleenex. Make it a box of them.

your Man - January 1, 2013 - 8:21 AM

Great post babe. You always got her smiling, that’s because she loves her grandma. Good job on the 32 day challenge.

Gloria - January 2, 2013 - 9:37 AM

Mary….love, love, love this post on ‘reflection’ for a couple reasons. First, the photos are wonderful and capture Syd perfectly throughout the year. Great job! Second, the idea of reflecting back on Syd and making it your day 32 challenge for her 3rd year birthday was perfect and priceless! You must have been giddy thinking about this and keeping the surprise all through your challenge? Happy New Year my dear friend!

Aubrey - January 4, 2013 - 6:45 PM

I love seeing her through the months like this. I feel like I know her even though we’ve only met once. Little people are the best!

Day 31: Celebrate

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 31: Celebrate. It’s almost a New Year and everyone will celebrate in different ways. “Goodbye 2012. We had some good times, yes? You were hard on us at times, but we learned from you.” In 2013, we get to do it all over again … celebrate the beautiful, wonderful, imperfect life […]

You are so funny! Now I can read this and think I am the Mary. Hahaha

Becky - January 2, 2013 - 9:21 AM

Heard the other day that the average weight gain over the holidays is .8 lbs. Always knew you were above average. And knowing you, I’m sure you are already down a pound or two. Good luck.

Aubrey - January 4, 2013 - 6:43 PM

Oh how I laughed at this! So funny and so me, I’ve got a sweet tooth with way more resolve than me 😉

Day 29: Gratitude

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 29: Gratitude. While I can’t take credit for the photo idea, I can take credit for doing the work, buying the flower, and giving it to each of you! I am grateful for your friendships and your act of kindnesses. I am grateful for God and to God who gives […]

Deanna - December 28, 2012 - 8:47 AM

Beautiful photos Mary!

Linda J. - December 28, 2012 - 8:56 AM

Simple texture presented in a most fetching fashion. Your eye captures the beauty in those simple things. Sign of a mighty fine photographer if you ask me!

Megan - December 28, 2012 - 9:20 AM

I want the first one blown up for Christmas décor and I want the second one in a 20xsomething for my landing. I LOVE THESE!!!

Fairly Candid - December 28, 2012 - 10:17 AM

Well this was a surprise to find four comments this morning! You DO care! Ha ha. The first one is from the walk from my work back to my parking garage yesterday. I took my camera to work knowing I was going to my mom’s afterwards and didn’t want it in the cold. When I got to my mom’s, the sun was shining through her window onto these “whatchamacallits” in a vase on her mantle. The last one was shot Dec. 7 outside the back door of Sears at the Mall by the children’s department. I found it so striking that it still had leaves when all other trees had none. The colors were so pretty and who doesn’t love pretty things? 🙂 Thank you all. Mary
