Pretty in Pink

Simone is 10 months old today (the 28th) so I’ll be taking new pictures soon, but just had to share these little cuties of a few weeks ago. Megan and Robby were having a date night, and brought the girls dressed matchy-matchy in some shirts I’d bought them … just in case I wanted to […]

OH! Those eyes, those lips, that hair in the third picture is too much for me to handle!!! It shouts “FRAME ME!” Love the second picture as it completely captures Syd with Simone- snuggling up behind her and grabbing her for a big sister bear hug.

Ten months. Boy do I have a treat for you.

[…] the last post of Simone called “Pretty in Pink” Megan wrote a comment ending with “Ten months. Boy do I have a treat for you.” […]

Happy Valentine’s Day

Just a little treat that is oh so sweet! MJ is my oldest g-babe, born three years ago in October. He’s a smart little guy, using a rapid succession of words all through the day. πŸ™‚ He loves to help me in the kitchen, loves playing police cars, fire trucks, and little people in “his” […]

Oh man have I missed your blog- and what a sweet treat to check tonight and find these adorable lovey faces looking back at me! I love the individuality and thought you gave each kids’ commentary and I hope MJ is sporting fire hearts in his room!

BTW- we have 8 teeth and guess what I found in there when I was looking today? A MOLAR thinking about poking through. WHAT? Poor thing- sick and a molar! Tough little cookie, right?

Happy Valentines Day to you- so glad we’ll be getting to see you!

Fairly Candid - February 13, 2013 - 10:49 PM

Seriously, those Gerichs Girls are the toughest I’ve ever seen!

Tracey - February 14, 2013 - 8:18 AM

Mary I have tears in my eyes from looking at these darling
children! All of them are so cute. I would love to just
give them each a big bear hug. You and the other grandmas
and grandpas have such blessings. I’m glad they did such
a great job at letting you take their pictures. Kodoos to
the parents. Doing a great job all of you! Happy Valentines
Day to you all!

Fairly Candid - February 14, 2013 - 9:06 AM

Tracy, thank you for sharing that bit of love today! You are special! Mary

Dawn Wickham - February 14, 2013 - 3:01 PM

Oh Mary! Gloria gave me a copy of this picture last night and I’m completely enamored! She said that Lily was a little monster, so I’m shocked you got a smile out of her. (You should have seen her at her family birthday shin-dig. HORRIBLE ^_^ )
Thanks again, you definitely create magic!

Danielle - February 14, 2013 - 8:41 PM

Loved this post, love these kids, and LOVE your pictures! Thanks for a great Valentines Day!! Love you guys.

Fairly Candid - February 15, 2013 - 7:38 AM

Hi Dawn,I thought Lily was just the most beautiful precious little thing. No monsters were at my house! πŸ™‚ Mary

Fairly Candid - February 15, 2013 - 7:39 AM

It truly was such a special Valentine’s Day. Thank you for all you did as well to make it so. Love you right back.

matt - February 17, 2013 - 4:53 PM

Thank you for taking the time again to snap some perfect photos of all 4 beautiful kids. Agree what Megan said about the individual comments about each kid.

Fairly Candid - February 17, 2013 - 5:06 PM

Thank you son. They sure do make me proud … along with all four of you big kids who are raising them up so beautifully. Every one of you are sure are a joy in our lives! Love, Mom

Snow What We Did?

We went sledding! Our family owns a business called Mouser Machine Shop located over by Costco where Mike’s folks bought land and built in 1990 (before that it was in a shop behind Grampa’s house). For as long as we have been there, there has been an empty lot next door that is flat, without […]

Oh my JOY. Seeing those pictures, those frozen faces, those laughs and the snow mists made my night. What a spectacular day with many like that in the future I hope!

You guys are amazing Grandparents…and seeing Dad happy like that is just good for my soul. I could never get enough of it.

P.S. Image #28 of dad laughing is my favorite.

Kathy Norwood - January 17, 2013 - 5:58 AM

Looks like so much fun. Hope there is some snow left when we get there!

Tracey - January 17, 2013 - 7:58 AM

Those are the best. Looks like a very wonderful day! Glad everyone had such a great time.

Becky - January 17, 2013 - 8:31 AM

I bet you all were sore from laughing that hard. What a fun day.

Katie - January 17, 2013 - 8:47 AM

I remember doing this when we were little! Thanks for the wonderful pictures!

Linda J. - January 17, 2013 - 11:45 AM

Looks like the happy scene that was happening at my house that day too! However, my family’s happy faces will have to be burned into my memory as my g-babies don’t have a wonderful photographer for a gramma! (Though I did manage a few picts.) Great job of capturing the joy Mary!

Fairly Candid - January 17, 2013 - 12:43 PM

Knowing your family, I can hear the laughter too … especially since it was a birthday celebration as well. Happy Birthday to James and Jeremy!

Fairly Candid - January 17, 2013 - 12:44 PM

Good memories recycled. :-} Thanks for all the fun comments everyone.

When MJ and Syd were 8 and 6 months old, I had professional photos taken at O2Photography by Jennifer Oates. The first photo below, believe it or not, is still my computer screen saver, not to mention a $200 11×14 on my wall in the living room. I can’t tell you how much I love […]

Thanks so much for the pics, Mom- what a treat for us!!!

Megan - January 6, 2013 - 12:52 PM

Matt - January 6, 2013 - 4:26 PM

Happy Mommy - January 1, 2013 - 6:02 AM

This is my favorite post of the whole year. Thank you. I think you summed it up best when you said- “We thought she was getting so big as a two year old … she was just a baby.”

Fun to see your favorites and relive the year through them. So many good times with that little sweet pea we have.

I need a Kleenex. Make it a box of them.

your Man - January 1, 2013 - 8:21 AM

Great post babe. You always got her smiling, that’s because she loves her grandma. Good job on the 32 day challenge.

Gloria - January 2, 2013 - 9:37 AM

Mary….love, love, love this post on ‘reflection’ for a couple reasons. First, the photos are wonderful and capture Syd perfectly throughout the year. Great job! Second, the idea of reflecting back on Syd and making it your day 32 challenge for her 3rd year birthday was perfect and priceless! You must have been giddy thinking about this and keeping the surprise all through your challenge? Happy New Year my dear friend!

Aubrey - January 4, 2013 - 6:45 PM

I love seeing her through the months like this. I feel like I know her even though we’ve only met once. Little people are the best!

Day 26: Toy

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 26: Toy. With four g-babes and four other young kids in the family, there was no shortage of toys unwrapped on Christmas day at our family celebration (of 24 adults and 8 kids)! We got to my daughter’s house in the morning with breakfast and gifts in hand to celebrate […]

Laura - January 6, 2013 - 3:47 PM

Love catching up on your blog — especially your grandbabies. I can’t wait to see them in the person again!
As always, we LOVE your work. I can’t tell you how many compliments we got on the pictures you took!

Fairly Candid - January 6, 2013 - 4:05 PM

Aw Laura, thank you. I saw your Christmas card and Megan’s and LOVED it. You picked one of my favorite photos. Gosh, do you remember how cold it was that day?! The kids are so excited to meet you in LA and take in the Disneyland experience. Have a wonderful time! I’ll look forward to seeing Meg’s pictures, and your blog update on it as well.

Jayden at 8 Months

Aww Jayden, you’re getting so big at 8 months! I don’t want you to get older yet! He and Simone are three weeks apart but he’s off and running crawling leaving the girl in his dust! He even climbed his first set of stairs today all by himself! He’s definitely into more things … thus […]

Day 15: Something YUM

32 Day Photo Challenge. Day 15: Something yum. It sure was a coincidence that when I had Sydney earlier this week for a sleepover that the theme was SWEET, and today when I had MJ for the whole day and night the theme is YUM! The two certainly go together! MJ has always liked to […]

Megan - December 15, 2012 - 8:44 AM

Yum! I wanna try one!!! Love the seriousness he puts into making the perfect cookies! Yay for quality time with Gramma & Grampa!!!

Linda J. - December 15, 2012 - 9:04 PM

Yum is right! Such a cute little grandson you have. I had my own cute grandchildren up today and we decorated gingerbread houses and made cake pops–also yum. However, unlike Gramma Mary, I do not have photographic proof, as usual.

matt - December 16, 2012 - 9:43 PM

What a great post. He is always ready and willing to help mom in the kitchen stirring the pancakes and adding ingredients into whatever she is making. fun pictures.

Tracey - December 17, 2012 - 8:07 AM

What a cute helper you have! Glad there is something you can do together when the weather outside is cold. Enjoy the holidays with those wonderful grandchildren.
