I Heart Faces Photo Challenge “Best Face of 2014”

Sydney is Simone’s older sister who turned 5 on New Year’s day. For her birthday we arranged to take her out for her one-on-one birthday adventure with Grampa and I to get ribs and visit the Aquarium (her choices). When we went to pick up Sydney and were ready to leave, Simone who is 2-½, […]

Oh Mary! Simone looks so much like her Mother in this picture. Love it. Great job.

Cody Myers - January 7, 2015 - 8:13 AM

What a little doll! Precious picture Mary, she has a very good chance of winning! 🙂 Cody

Megan - January 7, 2015 - 8:16 AM

There’s definitely some spitfire behind those sweet eyes!!!

Linda J. - January 7, 2015 - 9:24 AM

She is adorable and that is a terrific picture. Little ones do say exactly the thought that is running through their heads at that moment. Once I asked Carson when he was about 2, “I don’t think you like my hugs or when I mess with your hair.” He answered is deep little monotone voice, “No, not so much, but I like Poppy.” I guess Poppy didn’t try to show affection as much and he appreciated it. He was just so cute, I couldn’t help but try!

Our Home

We moved in August, got our first snow in November, and are now all cozy and warm inside. As a believer in Jesus, I know that Christmas is when we celebrate His birth. He was born in humble means — not a new house like we are so grateful to have — but a barn like setting with smelly […]

Tracey - December 22, 2014 - 8:11 AM

Merry Christmas to you and yours! Love your pictures! I know you will get many many wonderful years in that beautiful home.
Love to you and yours.

Aubrey - December 26, 2014 - 9:59 AM

Merry Christmas, Mary! I have spent the morning looking through all the new posts on here. Your home is stunning! I am amazed at how you gather all your family for photos so regularly and how beautiful the results are. This parenting thing just doesn’t compare to the grandparent gig 😉

Laura - January 28, 2015 - 11:25 PM

Hi. I just had a quick second to catch up on your blog. You house is beautiful. I hope you are quite settled.
Your pictures are amazing as always! Good to see all the kids (the big ones too).

Fairly Candid - January 29, 2015 - 6:47 AM

So wonderful hearing from you Laura and I am honored you took the time with your busy life in China. I love keeping up on your family through Megan and wish all the best. Love, Mary

The Men in My Family

In catching up on some family edits of the past few months, I came across a commonality of Grampa, son, and grandsons when concentrating on something of importance. Can you guess what it is? 🙂 Love you Mouser men!! XXO

Mary it really makes me wonder how much help the tongue is in those situations. Lots of Laughs. Isn’t it funny how that goes from generation to generation. Guess it like the story of the Mom cutting down the size of her roast. Love the pics. To cute!

Linda - December 18, 2014 - 9:23 AM

Such handsome men–even with their tongues hanging out!

Megan - December 18, 2014 - 3:59 PM

I love it!!!!!

Kathryn Webb - December 20, 2014 - 2:33 PM

Active tongues, those Mouser men!!! How about the girls? Tongues in or out most of the time?

Family Fun

We got together with Mike’s brother and family for a pre-Christmas party and started off with bowling at Big Al’s before heading back to our place for pizza and dessert. The kids in particular had a (bowling) ball as did the girls. 🙂 I just had to share a few snapshots of family fun. Ho […]

Tracey - December 17, 2014 - 8:03 AM

Oh Mary, looks like so much fun! Your son needs to shave the beard but other than that the pictures are great! LOL! Funny how this time of year brings out the beards. Anyway the children are precious as always. Your daughter is looking like she is ready to pop. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Love you all. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Nice looking family Mike!

Linda - December 17, 2014 - 9:55 AM

Oh what fun it is to sing a bowling song tonight!!! Looks like a fun family get together. I never thought of going bowling but that is an idea I might steal. Great pics.

Diane & Jim - January 7, 2015 - 6:29 PM

Now that is one good looking family…..

A Mouser Family Christmas Card

Two weeks ago I was photographing in 50 degree weather and one week later 9″ of powdery white snow! This session is of my son’s family and they are brave and tough through and through. The day before the session, I called Danielle and asked if she wanted to postpone her photo session a week because it was only supposed […]

Beautiful pictures of a BEAUTIFUL family!

Danielle - November 22, 2014 - 8:13 PM

3 things…
1) I am amazed that you actually got decent expressions out of my out of control 2 1/2 year old.
2) They turned out even better than I could have ever imagined…especially with how cold it was!
3) Good news…Matt hasn’t been questioned by the police yet! 😉
Thank you Thank you Thank you!! We are blessed to have such an amazing photographer in the family 🙂

LoraLee Carter - November 23, 2014 - 7:54 AM

What a DARLING family!! Such great pictures of everyone! The boys have grown so much since we have seen them. Cuter than ever! Then of course, Mom and Dad are no slouches!!! Absolutely beautiful couple, they look like models!
Your work is fantastic, Mary.
Sounds like Matt almost got hauled in for questioning!!! Boy he fit the description all the way around didn’t he? Sure are some crazy people out there!!
Can’t wait to see which Christmas card we get from the kids!
Love,
LoraLee

Katie - November 23, 2014 - 8:21 AM

Seems like the snow was the perfect prop! Another great shoot, Mary! I’m anxious to see which ones they choose for their card, as they are ALL so great!

Becky Hamilton - November 23, 2014 - 8:53 AM

Wonderful pictures of a beautiful family!

Linda J. - December 1, 2014 - 3:41 PM

They really are wonderful pictures, even the one you say is blurry–what a beautiful family.

The Gerichs

It’s always fun to get to photograph my kids and g-babes even when we do get in trouble like we did on this shoot. We went to the Scentsy Common Grounds to take in the beautiful scenery early Saturday morning. I admit to taking the girls into the dirt then saying “they probably don’t want […]

Beautiful family pics

Megan - October 26, 2014 - 3:35 PM

I love them! Love, love, love them. My favorite family one was the first one and all the ones of the girls alone and together will be hung for certain. You have an amazing ability to get everyone smiling at once. Thanks for taking time out of your busiest season for us. Love you!

Rob - October 26, 2014 - 8:05 PM

Thank you Mary! Wonderful job! Love them all, but the two with Mone’s hands on her chin just entrigue me. I can’t figure out what it is, but it’s great.

Linda J. - October 27, 2014 - 9:05 AM

A beautiful, happy little family. Such sweet pictures. Love them.

Kathy G - October 27, 2014 - 11:14 AM

There was some kind of up-close-and-personal interaction with that tree! I am not surprised the vegetation police came out, but I have to say, it was worth it, I’m glad you did it. Those pictures just made my heart sing.

Lorrie - November 12, 2014 - 6:26 PM

Hi Mary: Great news about Megan expecting in May. Corey’s birthday is May 29 and since you have grandchildren’s birthdays on both of my children’s birthday, this one needs to share Corey’s! lol

Happy Birthday Cowboy! [MJ at 5]

October 20 celebrates the 5th birthday of my oldest g-babe, MJ (Matthew Jr.). A week ago his folks and Grampa went hunting for Danielle’s first bull elk (she got a nice 6 by 5), and I got the joy of watching MJ and Jayden for 48 hours. Our time was filled with all things fun, but […]

Love the surprise shoot. I sure do have two little men and you are great at capturing moments like this

Fairly Candid - October 19, 2014 - 8:48 PM

Thank you for commenting Matt. It was a joy-filled 48 hours for me and MJ kept me laughing on this photo shoot. He’s quite the poser. Love, MOM

Danielle - October 19, 2014 - 9:23 PM

Love these so much! I sent this to my sister and she texted me saying she was crying. When I asked her why she said “because he has grown so much in the past 2 months! I miss seeing him :(” Thank you so much for watching them and taking such cute 5 year pictures.

Fairly Candid - October 19, 2014 - 9:49 PM

Oh, that blesses my heart Danielle. Thank you for sharing that. I’m sure Auntie could use a good dose of nephew hugs right now.

dad - October 19, 2014 - 9:57 PM

Great pics babe. Well it looks like MJ is ready for a horse. He sure has grown up. Good cowboys make good men.

Becky - October 20, 2014 - 8:38 AM

Great pictures. MJ has turned the corner from toddler to boy. Looks like you had a fun day.

Linda J. - October 20, 2014 - 9:09 AM

Oh my, he has the cowboy stance down pat!! Looks like those cute little boys had as much fun as you did. Good job, Gramma, especially for letting MJ take control of the camera and you didn’t even look nervous in the pictures!

Sheila Clark - October 20, 2014 - 1:39 PM

Great pics, love the cowboy outfits! Can’t wait to see our sneak peak!! 🙂

Auntie Megan - October 20, 2014 - 3:33 PM

Well done, Gramma. Well done. He’s always been a cute little man, but WOW…he’s sure turning into a handsome little devil. He’s got the no-smile down just as pat as the smile poses. Before we know it you’ll be posting his senior pics and linking to this post when he first started his Cowboy getup.

Happy Birthday, sweet Nephew!!!

Mary - October 20, 2014 - 3:59 PM

That first picture is one where MJ looks like he really does have a horse tied up at the hitching post. Great looking grand sons.

Fairly Candid - October 21, 2014 - 10:31 AM

Thanks everyone! And just so you know, it WON’T be Grampa and I buying him a horse!!!

Aubrey - October 22, 2014 - 6:58 AM

I love your work but the time spent with grandkids and that special connection makes it even better. The light and colors this time of year just add to your talent. Great pictures of the lil dudes!

Simone Turns Two [and other random stuff]

Two two-year olds three weeks apart — Jayden and Simone — keep our lives in awe of all the new things two year olds learn. They are little sponges and it’s so fun to watch. Simone had a little family/friend birthday party the end of April with a jump house, piñata, gifts, and of course oozy gooey […]

Mary those pictures are just wonderful. I know I keep saying this
but you are so lucky to have such a great family. You have such great quality time with you grandchildren and adult children. Enjoy those babies because before you know it they will be in high school and all this fun time (Which I hope is a lot) will be just wonderful memories.

Cody Myers - May 23, 2014 - 8:05 AM

Mary beautiful pictures. I really love the last one!!!

Fairly Candid - May 23, 2014 - 10:52 AM

Tracy, what a sweet comment and it reminds me to not complain about the small stuff. These times are short just as you say.

Fairly Candid - May 23, 2014 - 10:54 AM

There’s actually quite a funny story about the last one and it’s rare that we have a picture of just the big kids with us. I love it too! Thanks Cody.

Linda - May 23, 2014 - 11:04 AM

Awesome as always. Blessed kids and grandkids to have such a talented grandma.

Megan - May 23, 2014 - 2:53 PM

How did we make such adorable kids?!?!? Sweet cheeks, pouty lips, hippy smiles and love abounds. Of course there’s sass, tears, tempers and yelling…but who wants to cover that? Not me!

Loved every single picture. Love you!

Beth - June 8, 2014 - 11:16 PM

TWO? It seems like she was just born! That is way toooo fast. Everyone looks good and as always, wonderful pics!

Jayden Turns Two

April and May have been busy months so I’m definitely behind in spending time on my blog, but I do see blue skies ahead now that the house selections are all finalized. Speaking of blue, these kids of mine makes me feel anything but in these happy colors they are wearing (sounds like a fashion show runway […]

Fairly Candid - May 13, 2014 - 7:08 AM

Sweet comments from a sweet family as well. Glad you are doing well Angela.

Becky Hamilton - May 13, 2014 - 9:27 AM

These pictures make me smile. Fun family!

Kathy G - May 13, 2014 - 12:01 PM

Thanks for the smile of the day. Those boys sure do have personality!

Linda - May 13, 2014 - 12:41 PM

It was fun to see those special little boys on Friday and experience their little personalities first hand–even if Angie and I didn’t ever get to finish a conversation. That was part of the fun of it! Kind of like how it is when we go out with our own grandchildren.

Megan - May 13, 2014 - 2:34 PM

Seriously, those two boys just keep getting cuter and handsomer every day. That last pic of Jayden is killing me as I am envisioning him saying “ooooh” in that sweet deep voice.

Well done, Gramma. You know how to make those kids smile the biggest!!!
