Cole Isaac at 6 and 18 Days

Would you believe Cole is almost three weeks already! I know, I’ve been a slacker. Big Sister Sydney always says when she’s holding him “he’s so adorable I just want to squeeze his neck because I love him so much” (yes, we discourage the neck squeezing) but it’s true, he is adorable. :- ) He was born 9 days late […]

Fantastic

Fairly Candid - June 6, 2015 - 10:18 AM

Thank you Mary! We think he’s pretty cute!

Linda J. - June 6, 2015 - 4:01 PM

So, so cute!!! He is a keeper for sure. Congratulations Gerichs and Mousers–he is handsome and lucky boy to have such a wonderful family!

Fairly Candid - June 6, 2015 - 9:14 PM

Thanks Linda. It’s so fun sharing him in pictures. He’s got skinny legs and a round milk-filled tummy. 🙂

Vince - June 7, 2015 - 7:24 AM

I finally remembered to leave a comment. This is one beautiful baby, and these are some terrific shots! You are truly gifted.

Boy Mama - June 7, 2015 - 8:18 AM

I have a SON! And oh, is he a precious and perfect one at that!!! I have looked at these ten times now and still don’t have just ONE favorite. Perhaps I should turn my piano room into a wall of Cole photos. 😉 I adore the first picture- eyes are such a window into the soul as they say and I love when he opens those big eyes and just stares into mine- just like he’s doing in this photo. Plus it’s fun to see Syd’s baby eyes all over again, and Simone’s little lips. Other than those two things he’s all uniquely Cole, but it’s fun to see glints of his sisters in him. The one at the end with all three kids kills me, and the one of Sydney kissing his nose is precious especially because I know how excited she was to be a big girl and hold him like that. They’re all so fantastic showing off his pudgy cheeks, brand new brows, tummy wrinkles and itty bitty toes. He might be almost 10 pounds but he’s still teensy tiny to me. I know this was a hard shoot, and an even harder edit job- but the outcome, oh the outcome is magnificent! Thanks for your hours of back breaking love to capture this moment in our lives. He’s loved, that’s for certain!!!

Fairly Candid - June 7, 2015 - 7:22 PM

Thanks Vince, I’m glad we have blogs to swap. Yours is much more entertaining than mine, except for when it comes to my g-babes of course. 🙂

Fairly Candid - June 7, 2015 - 7:28 PM

Yes new momma, my back was broken over the hours of love capturing these — just don’t tell anyone it was broken long before that. It was all for him and him alone … but then he’s worth it! I’m still trying to figure out my favorite too. I think it’s the close up of him on the brown blanket with the knit stretchy over his head … or the one of him in a C with a tad bid of toes showing and those back wrinkles. He looks so big in pictures but so small in person (oh I just had a flash back of me saying that 11 times in Hawaii when I met Sydney for the first time.) But so true – those cameras do add 10 pounds (or 10 ounces, whichever the case may be for babies). Love you Meg.

Rob - June 7, 2015 - 8:47 PM

Beautiful! Thank you for the great pictures. You do great work! I’m just going to stare at Mone’s eyes all night.

Megan - June 7, 2015 - 9:55 PM

Sweet!!! So I really look ten pounds lighter in person? Hehehe. Love you too.

Kay Lynn - June 25, 2015 - 1:47 PM

Just looked at Toby Royer’s pics and loved his wide-open eyes…..but these sleeping-baby pics are so, so sweet. Those baby lips are the best. 🙂 🙂 Megan, you look BEAUTIFUL!!!

Julia - June 27, 2015 - 12:13 PM

Megan, I can’t get over how STUNNING you are! And your girls are sweet little visions of you. Mary, I’m with you on the picture with all the back rolls! That one and the first two are my favorites 🙂 Those, and the one with his big sisters both looking at him (with the pennant banner in the background). Thanks for blessing us with such wonderful pictures of beautiful babes!

Cole Isaac Gerichs

Welcome to our newest family addition — Cole Isaac! He took his sweet time coming being that he was 9 days overdue but that really wasn’t a surprise to our family as Sydney was 7 days overdue and Simone 14 days overdue. Sydney was beside herself with excitement. When I called to check on Megan Saturday […]

Diane & Jim - May 20, 2015 - 1:43 PM

What a adorable family. And baby Cole is so sweet and his big sister’s look so very excited. Congrats to all.

Fairly Candid - May 20, 2015 - 7:19 PM

Thanks for the sweet comments friends. I will be sure to pass them along to Megan and Robby.

These are wonderfully beautiful pictures!! You truly caught the love and excitement about having a new baby brother!! Can’t wait for you to take our family pictures!

Fairly Candid - May 21, 2015 - 11:49 AM

Tears are good … we had some too!

Fairly Candid - May 21, 2015 - 11:50 AM

How sweet of you June to comment. It’s a pretty big deal having a brother. I’m excited for the girls to have someone new to “mother” and trust me, they will (in a good way). Mary

Liz - May 21, 2015 - 9:49 PM

Oh I just love everything about this! Love LOVE LOOOOOVVVVEEE the Gerichs family. Can’t wait to smooch on Cole!

Lorrie Holaday - May 26, 2015 - 10:09 AM

Darn! She missed Corey’s birthday by 12 days! Congratulations! Corey will be celebrating his birthday in Guatemala this year as he is helping with a mission project. He was so excited!

Fairly Candid - May 31, 2015 - 12:20 AM

Hi Lorrie! I know you were hoping for like birthdays, but I don’t think Megan could have waited ANOTHER 12 days! Hope to see you this summer. Mary

[…] the others naturally are – duh!) (Birth details and 1st day’s homecoming can be seen here.) He was born 7 days after his cousin Gavin on the Gerichs’ side so they are going to have […]

Kathryn Webb - June 14, 2015 - 5:57 PM

Great photos and congratulations on this new grandson. He is just precious. You are truly blessed.

Fairly Candid - June 15, 2015 - 12:57 AM

Kathy, so nice to hear from you … what a surprise! Thank you for your sweet comment. We are blessed … as are you with your grandkids. 🙂

Happy 3rd B-Day Simone!

Here she is, the youngest and most determined of my g-babes and she just had a 3rd birthday a week ago. Simone’s the baby of her family (until Cole comes along any day now), and can sometimes act like a baby, but mostly she’s a big girl with an independence to match. Her latest thing this […]

Lucky Mommy - May 7, 2015 - 6:51 PM

Argh I just love when your do posts on my kids! So fun to hear you’re descriptions and laugh at how spot on you are!!! I loved every picture in this post and every word written. The first five of her sticking her tongue out cracked me up and the last two made me cry. She is a gorgeous little being with a huge heart. Thanks for loving her as much as we do.

Fairly Candid - May 7, 2015 - 7:15 PM

You are a lucky mommy, and I’m a lucky gramma. Love you. Mom

Cody Myers - May 8, 2015 - 8:15 AM

What a little character! She is a cutie pie, love those beautiful eyes 🙂 Aren’t grand-daughters so awesome!

Fairly Candid - May 8, 2015 - 9:25 AM

You know it Cody, having two of your own. Enjoy babysitting that baby Hazel!

Rob - May 8, 2015 - 5:19 PM

Your photos make me love these girls more! Thank you for capturing this sweet, tongue wagging, brash chef of ours!

Fairly Candid - May 8, 2015 - 8:46 PM

Perfect comment from a wonderful daddy!

Kathy G - May 9, 2015 - 6:35 PM

Every time I see your pictures I think they just get better and better. You had some pretty good raw material to work with here. I’ve never seen more photogenic kids. However, I find whacking Queen Elsa with a stick to be slightly disturbing. Nooooooo!

Fairly Candid - May 10, 2015 - 5:03 PM

Funny comment Kathy. Poor Elsa!

Kathy Webb - June 14, 2015 - 6:03 PM

Lucky Simone to have such great grandparents! You guys are the best!!

Fairly Candid - June 15, 2015 - 12:58 AM

Thank you Kathy, so nice to hear from you!

Megan and Leah – 38 Weeks

You’ve heard me tell you how MJ and Sydney are 10 weeks apart, and Jayden and Simone are three weeks apart, but did you know that there are close cousins on Robby’s side of the family as well? Robby’s brother, Danny and his sweet wife Leah, have Hannah who is 10 weeks younger than Simone, and […]

Tomboy Mama - April 30, 2015 - 7:51 AM

I think I’m still convinced a little girl is going to pop out of there. Ha! I can’t wait to meet this little fellow and it’s still so weird to look at pictures of myself and know that I’m so pregnant! It’s gone all so very fast, and I’m so thankful to you that I have these awesome shots to remember it all by. I think my favorite is the one on the rock where I’m holding COLE and the COLE belly shot with words…and LOVE too. And the leaping to three picture- I think this caption would better fit it: “About to fall off a cliff having three kids.” Hee hee. I was showing Sydney the ones of her and I when I was pregnant with Simone and she wanted to know where the file was of when she was in my belly. I had to break it to her that it was weekly shots in Hawaii that weren’t at all cute, staged, professionally done, etc. 🙂 Thanks for taking extra time to get Leah and I together and capture this exciting time for us. Can’t wait to see him from behind your lens soon! I love you!!!

MOM - April 30, 2015 - 9:38 AM

That’s funny Megan about the caption for the jump shot — what I was thinking myself after what your friends have been telling you. At least you HAVE pregnancy pictures of Sydney. You were so dedicated to that and her newborn pics are just the sweetest ever. I did the same thing of you kids – a picture a month of the changes. Our maternity clothes weren’t so cute then, but no one wore tight stuff like they do now. Your maternity pics of Simone hold special memories for me … my first maternity pics ever and you were just amazing. Sydney was a shy little thumb sucker back then. Just look at that girl now! Can’t wait to see Cole and how his personality might be different from the girls. Happy birthing!

Becky - April 30, 2015 - 12:15 PM

Looking forward to meeting Cole.

Vince - April 30, 2015 - 12:17 PM

Mary, you know how much I love your work, but I also admire your imagination — these shots of Megan and Leah are so clever! I’m sure the kids you shoot have a great time posing for you, too.

Fairly Candid - April 30, 2015 - 3:54 PM

And we can’t wait for you to meet him either Becky. It won’t be long now. (Or it could be another three weeks!)

Fairly Candid - April 30, 2015 - 3:55 PM

Thanks Vince but guess what? A few ideas came from Pinterest — whoever invented that site was a genius. But I give myself credit for knowing how to do them after I see them. 🙂

Danielle - May 1, 2015 - 12:10 AM

Next week??? Already? Wow that went fast. Pregnancy looks good on those ladies! Excited to add another boy to the mix!

Fairly Candid - May 1, 2015 - 8:20 AM

Yep, the girls will be outnumbered … you have time to have one more to even it out. 🙂

Aubrey - May 3, 2015 - 9:42 AM

I just got all caught up on your wonderful blog. You have been busy, Grandma! I love all the color and life and crispness you bring to these photo shoots. You have a gift and you use it well.

Fairly Candid - May 3, 2015 - 10:40 AM

Aubrey, so nice hearing from you! I check in on the Funny Farm now and then but haven’t seen much new lately. I miss it when you don’t. Thank you for your sweet comments and stay wonderful!

Rob - May 4, 2015 - 11:12 PM

Nice job again! I love the incorporation of letters. My favorite is the “love” photo. I saw a photo of Mone kissing the belly (on megan’s blog) and that one will be going up on our wall. Thanks for always taking such great photos for us!!

Fairly Candid - May 5, 2015 - 9:23 AM

Well you know how to make a mom-in-law feel pretty special Robby. Thanks for taking the time to comment – now let’s have a new grandson shall we!

[…] next image is dedicated to Big Sis Sydney who didn’t get to be at the 38 Week photo session. Love you […]

Happy 3rd B-Day Jayden!

It happens whether you want it to or not, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it is bitter sweet … the g-babes getting older. Both Jayden and Simone turned three in April, Jayden on the 8th and Simone the 28th. This post will be about Jayden and his sweet side of tenderness and three sides […]

Danielle - April 29, 2015 - 8:03 AM

What?! You just posted that gorgeous senior yesterday, so I was patiently waiting until next week for this post! Love all of the silly moments captured of that silly little boy of mine, and LOVE LOVE all of our family pictures!! I do have to say that out of all of the pics posted on this particular post, my favorite pictures are the ones of Jay and Grandpa fishing. Takes me back to when I got to do the same thing with my grandpa, and those are such great memories. Thanks for being such amazing grandparents 🙂 Love you guys!!

Fairly Candid - April 29, 2015 - 8:20 AM

Ok, that just made me cry. Love you back.

Cody Myers - April 29, 2015 - 8:44 AM

I thoroughly enjoyed these pictures of Jayden and your family! He is a character!!! Gotta love 3 year olds!!! 🙂

Fairly Candid - April 29, 2015 - 8:55 AM

Thank you Cody. You know what it’s like … you get the same enjoyment out of Ruby, and now little Hazel.

Bobbi - April 29, 2015 - 8:59 AM

Such a gift, Mary! Your posts make my day! Thanks for sharing the love, silliness and happiness of your g-babies 🙂

Becky - April 29, 2015 - 10:28 AM

He’ll thank you one day for the peeing on the fence picture — NOT. You have a beautiful family and these pictures reflect that.

Fairly Candid - April 29, 2015 - 10:55 AM

Bobbi, nice to hear from you! Please stay in touch ok. What a special lady you are.

Auntie Meg - April 29, 2015 - 8:32 PM

If this post doesn’t make a 39 week Auntie cry, nothing will. It probably doesn’t help that Sam Smith’s “How Will I Know” song is playing on my computer, I’m exhausted and this nephew of mine is seriously the cutest 3 year old boy in the world. I loved it all- his crazy faces, the family pictures which were AMAZING (the one of them making faces and all roped up better make it on the walls!) and the last pictures of him fishing. Oh, and the peeing one. I love how he says “Auntie” and then gives me a sweet look and how much he loves big cousin Sydney and how he calls for her when we’re hanging out. Deary me, I don’t know if I am picturing Cole growing up or just relishing in the adorableness of this little flirt, but it’s all too much. I need a Kleenex.

Fairly Candid - April 29, 2015 - 9:23 PM

Oh my little pregnant daughter. I get the same way sometimes over the babes and I’m not even pregnant, so there’s no chance for you to not need a Kleenex I suppose! Sweet words over the little blondie. Love Mom

Fairly Candid - April 30, 2015 - 6:48 AM

Becky, I know, right? I debated … but it’s what boys do! Looking forward to catching up with you after your cruise. Lucky cousin that you are!

Lacey - April 30, 2015 - 6:03 PM

Oh my heavens! Jayden is such a spit fire! I love that kid (and this whole family)! I LOVE the family pictures! Mary you are incredibly talented!!!

Fairly Candid - April 30, 2015 - 9:46 PM

Thank you Lacey 🙂 The countryside definitely added a nice element — it’s wasn’t all me by any means. Thank you for loving my family. You’re definitely a special part of it too.

Hoppy Easter from Old MacDonald’s Farm

Actually that title should read Hoppy Easter from YOUNG MacMOUSER’S FARM! Danielle, MJ, Jayden, and Matt have welcomed 9 new pets to their brood (they already have two dogs). Welcome Charlie, a two-year old lop-eared rabbit (a curious little rabbit as Jayden calls him), and Peep, Kit, LaFonda, Tennessee, and Cleopatra — different varieties of egg-laying […]

Danielle - April 4, 2015 - 11:45 PM

Ahh!! I love every. single. one of these, but my heart absolutely melted over the picture of Simone and Jayden hugging on the stool. I had to go back and look at the pictures of Sydney and Mj holding the chicks you got a few years back…I was laughing hysterically because it looked like the poor chicks were getting squeezed to death. Thank you for your patience and fun energy that day!! You have come a long ways from your first day living in that house 😉 Fun, fun, fun!!

Becky - April 5, 2015 - 11:20 AM

Beautiful kids and words!! You and Mile are sure enjoying yourselves.

Megan - April 5, 2015 - 11:44 AM

Oh the smiles of abundant joy that are overflowing in these pictures are almost to much for my heart to hold. You capture the best moments!!! And that shaving cream craft was messy! You’re both rocking grandparenthood. Thank you!

Danielle and Matt…Thank you for opening up your home and pets so that the girls get to have some fun childhood animal memories!

Fairly Candid - April 16, 2015 - 2:28 PM

Thank you Danielle, Becky, and Megan. I think the kids had a great time with these pictures, and Charlie and the chicks were tolerant! Mary

Loved everyone of them. We have got beautiful grandkids all with their own personalitys. Gotta luv em.

Lucky mommy and auntie - February 14, 2015 - 9:01 AM

I bawled for ten minutes after reading this. Being sick and pregnant could have added to my emotional and sentimental response, but most of it came from the sweet words you wrote. You not only have talent for taking the must adorable pictures of the people I adore most, but your descriptions of each one were so ridiculously sweet, loving and spot on. Being able to write such personal attributes for them is a testament to the time, energy and love you have put into having a special relationship with each of them. They don’t realize it yet, but what a gift you’ve given them.

They’re all growing up into such wonderful, unique individuals. Thank you for freezing a second in time for us.

Kathy G - February 14, 2015 - 9:31 AM

Nobody does it better than you, Mary.

Danielle - February 14, 2015 - 4:16 PM

These turned out so cute!! Thank you so much for taking the time to take sweet pictures of the kids, and for all of the kind words written about them. We love you!

Gloria - February 16, 2015 - 5:28 PM

Mary, I so loved all your wonderful Valentines! Those babes age growing up so fast and you do a terrific job of capturing who they are and where they’re going in life. Great job! I can’t wait for you to photograph our new little addition to the family. Valentine’s Day has never been so special!

Cody Myers - February 17, 2015 - 8:32 AM

Mary those are so precious!!! You always do such a great job….love seeing your beautiful grandchildren 🙂

Simone Olivia

Some of you have heard me tell cute stories about my littlest g-babe, Simone, now 2-¾ years. She has some fire behind those big brown eyes of hers that sometimes gets her in trouble but the closer she gets to three-hood, the more she learns that acting nicely gets nicer results. Demand something of her and […]

Cody Myers - January 21, 2015 - 8:31 AM

Beautiful little sweetie Mary 🙂

Linda J. - January 21, 2015 - 9:17 AM

I still think she looks so much like her daddy. However, that 3rd picture down with her hand up, now in that one I see Megan. She has her Mama’s beautiful smile.

Fun Day Snow Day
