The Jex Family

The Jex family recently moved here from Denver and called me after getting a referral from their realtor (who had picked up one of my business cards at a showing of our house — how cool!) Working with these 7 adults was so much fun, and Emily was just the icing on the cake when […]

Mary, what a GREAT looking family. They look like they have so much fun together and the pictures are really nice. I hope they enjoy living here and the Silo was a great touch.

The Cordum Kids

Thanksgiving means adult kids come home from college and that sometimes gives me opportunities to photograph them as in the children of Nic, a friend of ours. Russell, 20, attends Montana State in Bozeman and is majoring in Electrical Engineering. Sammy, 19, is attending the College of William and Mary in Virginia and is majoring […]

The Busacker’s

The Busacker’s get the award for being the family I’ve ever photographed in the coldest temperatures – 28 degrees this past Saturday morning! I’ll be honest, with five children I was worried, but it was for not as they were troopers and we went a full session plus some! Bret is an attorney at Hawley […]

Mary, we absolutely love them! Just in case Bret has not told you, we are so excited to print them up and send to everyone and for ourselves!

Fairly Candid - December 1, 2013 - 6:38 PM

Yay! I’m so happy to hear you love them! Yes, Bret was kind to say he thought they turned out well, but it’s always the woman of the house that I like hearing from. 🙂 Thank you Siri, your family was a joy to work with. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful, now onward to Christmas!

The Mills Family [Mini-Session]

Be still my barnyard heart! I have wanted to photograph someone at this barn since I found it early this summer, and guess what, the Mills have wanted to be photographed by a barn for a long time. Score x 2! I got the fun of photographing Jeremy, Danielle, and handsome Mason last year for […]

I am loving all these mini sessions! It has been the perfect fall for them.

The Babcock’s

When I’m not doing photography, I work at Hawley Troxell as their receptionist and have gotten to know so many wonderful people in my 14 years there — Laura, a Legal Administrative Assistant being one of them. We share several commonalities together — a love for the Lord, devoted husbands (hi Dave!), two married children […]

Love the pictures Mary! Sounds like you had a time but you still got some great shots! Very nice looking family.

Aubrey - November 18, 2013 - 5:18 PM

Tall to small, got to love all the generations in one shoot. Life is good.

The Heyer’s

Meet another fabulous family that I am honored to have photographed with two adorable 3-½ year old boys. There’s Bill, Alyson, Carson in gray, and Weston in blue. I have to tell you a funny story that started my session. When the family arrived, it didn’t take me long to think the boys looked like […]

These are great! I love the last one of Carson and Weston hugging. So precious!

The Heyer Family » FairlyCandid.com - October 14, 2015 - 1:58 PM

[…] family — Bill and Alyson (married 11 years), and twins Carson (in green) and Weston (in blue) two years ago when they were in transition from selling their home and looking for another. Now this year, they […]

The Zumhoff’s

I’m not sure when I’ve ever had such a serious little client. Maya, who turns two in December, was a hard peanut to crack. We planned an afternoon session so she would be nice and rested from a long nap. With company in town, however, she had to settle for a short car ride nap instead. […]

What a wonderful job Mary!! Great photos of great friends! Love Miss Maya even in her serious face, she is so beautiful!
Where is this bridge? We need to do family photos there next time…

The Gerichs [My Family]

My kids, Megan and Robby, decided on a urban shoot this year so of course it was on one of the few windy day we’ve had these past two weeks. No worries … my kids are adaptable. And then there was Simone. She was having none of this photo business and 10 minutes into the […]

I can’t believe how those darling girls have grown! Soooo cute!
I got a hoot out of Simone, with her puckered lips and attitude.
Some mornings are just like that! You could see it didn’t take her long to warm up. Sidney is all sunshine isn’t she, what cute pictures of her! Robby and Megan just get more handsome and beautiful each year. What a fantastic couple and picture of sweet love! Grandpa looks darn good too. Such a sweet guy! Next time get someone to get you in those pictures, Girl!
Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Kathy Norwood - October 25, 2013 - 8:29 AM

I love these of your family. I really enjoy keeping up with you all on your blog.

Megan - October 25, 2013 - 2:12 PM

Oooooh boy. I see the frame budget needing an increase, and more wall space, please!!! MOM! You are fantastic! One would never know that the “conditions” weren’t perfect this day- which besides taking wonderful pictures is another talent of yours. You say we go with the flow, but you’re the one who makes messes into masterpieces through the lens!

My oldest and that sassy pose is killer, as are Simone’s red, red lips in each picture. My favorite of the family is the stairs, and the leaves in the air. SO thrilled you captured Simone’s pout face!!!

Thanks for the abundant compliments in the post. We love you!!!

Linda J. - October 25, 2013 - 3:15 PM

These are lovely photos of some of your lovely family. Those are some pretty great kids you have. (They have a pretty great Grandma/Mom, too!)

Mary - October 26, 2013 - 9:09 AM

Now these are some fun pictures not too posed. Loved them and those girls look more alike then ever. How cute are they!

Fairly Candid - October 26, 2013 - 9:19 AM

There can be a certain advantage to knowing your clients and what they will do and won’t do … as in little people. It’s always a treat photographing my own family. Your family is definitely more reserved than mine! 😉

Fairly Candid - October 26, 2013 - 9:20 AM

Lora Lee, knowing you are watching from Colorado always gives me a smile when you send a comment my way. I appreciate you!

Fairly Candid - October 26, 2013 - 9:21 AM

Oh Kathy, so nice hearing from my Texas cousin-in-law! You are such an amazing photographer so hearing from you is always a treat!

Terri Gerichs - October 26, 2013 - 1:05 PM

Mary , LOVE the pictures!!! You are AMAZING !!!

Danielle - October 27, 2013 - 11:28 PM

Photo shoots just aren’t the same if “reflector Mike” isn’t there 😉 They look great, and I love the sassy Syd pose!

Kathy G - October 28, 2013 - 10:43 PM

I just want to frame all of those pictures and it’s not even my family. It would be great to have a room full of these pictures all blown up on canvas. It would be the joy room.

Megan - October 30, 2013 - 9:39 PM

Kathy G- you are the sweetest!!! The “Joy Room”…I love it! I must have a “Joy House” cause these cuties are everywhere!

Aubrey - November 18, 2013 - 5:23 PM

I ALWAYS give you credit for your mad photog skillz but this family just looks great always. Love the creativity and the backstory. I agree with Megan, you’re going to need more frames!

The Weatherby’s [Mini-Session]

Meet John, Shelley, Benjamin (3-1/2) and busy Ellen (16 months) who I met for a mini-session on another beautiful Boise day. I have had the fun of getting to photograph so many adorable kids lately … and so many with blue eyes! Check out Ellen’s stunners, and Benjamin was such a sweet boy in every […]
