Jason and Christine

Christine has spent many a night at our house since she and Megan were best friends all through high school. She went to BSU where she met Jason, and they in turn re-introduced Megan to Robby (after one chance meeting that didn’t go so well) — and it’s been love ever since for both couples! […]

Family Portraits | Cottonwood

The thing I love about going to Cottonwood is the hospitality and how we are always made to feel at home and have access to anything we need (like a box of 175 individually wrapped York Patties that were extremely less in numbers by the time I left). The second thing I love is all the photos on […]

Made in the USA

On July 4th I got the privilege of photographing Laura and Dave’s family. Laura and I work together and share a common interest in God, have kids close in age, and each have a grandson and a granddaughter so you can imagine how we often share the joys of grandparenting! Her daughter, son-in-law and grandson […]

Mary, I love your subject matter in this one! Laura is such a beautiful person and it’s wonderful to see her entire family. What a happy, good looking bunch. Great job on the pictures and capturing this families warmth.

Thank you Shayna! I’ll make sure she sees your nice comment.

Megan, Robby, and Sydney

A big thank you to my daughter for being so agreeable as to go “urban” with their family portraits and to dress exactly as I wanted them to — with a mix-match of colors that “don’t have to match but just have to go” — as infamously said by Clinton Kelly and Stacey London of […]

Loved them. I am admittedly jealous of the family pics and regret that I was fully unaware of your talents during any of your visits! Keep up the great work.

Your Man - June 16, 2011 - 4:57 PM

There is only 1 thing that could make them better. Guess who?

Kathy Jones - June 16, 2011 - 5:18 PM

Love the photos – they are really such a perfect family. Long, lean, and beautiful! I loved the bright colors!!! The photos were so sharp and clean and made you want to just keep staring at them! Great job!

Thank you Kathy, I had some nice visits with Jon and got a few pics of him too … I’ll e-mail them to you sometime.

Matt, Danielle, and MJ

This little grandson of mine is now 19 months old so it was time for some new family portraits. Danielle wanted “old wood and tall grass” so I tried to deliver. The little fellow wasn’t so much into pictures as he was the rocks, glass, dirt, bugs, and anything else he shouldn’t have, so when we […]

These are so awesome- totally worth the long drive to get them. I love the shading and b/w with pieces of color you did- I can’t WAIT to see how great ours turn out!!

Linda Johnston - June 7, 2011 - 9:31 AM

These pictures are awesome!! Of course it helps to have such photogenic subjects. What a beautiful little family. Now, Mary, lets see what you can do with my bunch of cutie patooties (be warned, the parents and grandparents will be a little more challenging). Can’t wait to see the Gerich’s cuteness.

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - June 7, 2011 - 9:48 AM

Thank you Linda! I told Danielle I took too many pictures to which she said in an e-mail “I’m sorry we are such a cute family with such amazing talent… guess we should start charging people to take our pictures ;)” (News flash: I think I already DO pay to take their pictures … which you know I love, love, love and love to do.) Megan and Robby are next – this Thursday so I’ll post those next week after camping. As for your upcoming photo shoot, no worries. You could be blinking and noone will even notice with all of your cute grandkids in the picture. Oh wait! You WILL be blinking. We need to work on that.

Today is a good day. Smile. Mary

Sugar and Spice … and a Little Dirt Bike?

Meet “Ry”, a sweet, petite, almost five-year old with some good upbringing! Take for example being out in the cold for over an hour and never once, not once, whimpering or complaining or backtalking or crying or anything even remotely negative — through several clothing changes no less. I got report back from her sweet step-mom […]

"It Never Hurts to Ask" Family Portraits

Sometimes you meet the nicest people at the most unusual places.  Take for example the Hilton Hawaiian Village playground.  I was photographing my daughter’s family and we stopped for a few minutes to let Sydney play on the slide when a lady came up and asked if I was a photographer and could possibly photograph her family.  […]

Portraits of My Hawaiian Kids

My mom and I spent 14 wonderful days in sunny Honolulu the first two weeks of December with my daughter, Megan, son-in-law Robby, and granddaughter, Sydney.  A week into our trip Grampa showed up at their door surprising everyone but me (since I was in the loop from the get-go) so it was fun to see the kids […]

Company Coming? Need Portraits?

It’s holiday time and when that happens good friends and family come to visit, as in the case of Barb’s family who had extra guests for Thanksgiving.  Babies bring a special joy to a family and this one is no exception — what a cutie!  She has two cousins that I think are pretty fun, […]
