Nic and Stephanie

It was a joy to get to photograph Nic, both friend and doctor, and his beautiful bride of 8 years, Stephanie. Mike went along to help me with the reflector since it was a windy day, and must have told me several times what a great looking couple they were. I think you’ll agree that their […]

Trevor and Libby Wedding (They Eloped!)

It was a first for me, and certainly a first for them … a beautiful courthouse wedding on New Year’s Eve for Trevor and Libby who have been dating nearly a year. Jason and Christine set them up — and just for the record these two set up my daughter and son-in-law’s first meeting too — […]

Beautiful!! Seeing these pictures definitely fills a void and gives me a glimpse into your special day. I see a side of my son that I’ve never seen before and I know it comes from a deep love for sweet Libby. Love you both, Mom

Aunt Deb - January 9, 2016 - 5:17 PM

Sniff-sniff. What a beautiful day. I am so happy for you two. ❤️❤️❤️?

Sandra Thompson - January 9, 2016 - 6:31 PM

So much happiness! I cried just looking at the pictures. Just call me a silly old and happy Grandma. You know how much we love you Trevor and now we have a granddaughter, Libby to love. Grandpa and I wish the two of you a long happy life together.

Fairly Candid - January 9, 2016 - 6:53 PM

Oh my goodness, those are the sweetest comments everyone! Libby and Trevor, you are blessed with lots of love surrounding you. Mary

Carly Borgelt - January 10, 2016 - 9:26 PM

So happy for you two! I LOVE the 5th one from the bottom!!! I would frame it In my house, but I think that might send a saker like vibe! Congratulations my friend!

Aunt Karen - January 11, 2016 - 7:23 AM

Now I feel like I was at the wedding, tears and all. Thank you for the beautiful narrative and gorgeous pictures!

Tracey - January 11, 2016 - 8:00 AM

Mary this was one of your best sessions of the 2015 year. What a lovely couple. God Bless them and may they have many many happy years ahead of them. I hope their family’s weren’t too upset not getting to be there. You took just the right pictures so they could feel like they were there. Thank you Trevor and Libby for letting Mary share your photos. You are a lovely couple.

Fairly Candid - January 11, 2016 - 10:00 AM

Libby, Tracy is a co-worker of mine at the law firm and I appreciate her thoughts as I know you will. Thank you Tracy for your kind words. I love reading the family comments towards the new bride and groom as well. So sweet. Mary

Christine Ellis - January 11, 2016 - 5:02 PM

Mary, the pictures turned out so beautiful! I love love love the one of Trevor kissing Libby’s forehead!! I love how you took pictures of everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary…it was a beautiful day!

Fairly Candid - January 11, 2016 - 5:49 PM

Thank you Christine for asking me and for having the faith in me to do this, and for the fun you helped to create for Libby and Trevor with your excitement. It was all so fun. I have a friend in her early 60’s who wants to hire you for a love match. Know any older single gentlemen. 🙂 Love, Mary

Shirley Unruh aka G'ma - January 12, 2016 - 10:54 AM

These great photos/photographer made a surreal occasion genuine. God answered our prayers for our darling grand daughter?

Libby Phillips - January 16, 2016 - 10:19 AM

Mary, thank you for so beautifully capturing our special day! Trevor & I feel like we’re two of the most un-photogenic people so we would have been excited to only have one good picture. Because of you, there are so many great ones to choose from!! Thank you! We received the cd you mailed with all the photos and we’re so excited to share some of them on the wedding announcements we’ll be mailing. Thank you for making it possible for us to share the beginning of our Happily Ever After with our friends & family.

Fairly Candid - January 17, 2016 - 3:03 PM

Libby, you are so welcome and it was my joy to have the opportunity to photograph you. Thank you and your families for the kind words above. They made my day. Happy life, Mary

The Busacker’s: 50 Years Later

What a beautiful couple Bill and Brenda were, and I know that if I hadn’t titled this blog post the way I did, you would have never guessed these two were in their 70’s! They look amazing! I drove out to the countryside of Nampa for this session, to the 5-acre home of Bill and […]

How cute is that?!?! I love that you’ll make it to 50, we’ll make it to 50 and hopefully our kids make it that far too. How special to find a love that lasts.

Oh, and their backyard is KILLER.

The Alton’s

Do you believe in love? I do too, and it’s wonderful to help these two young people celebrate their 1st anniversary of marriage through photos. While I’m not certain how old they are, it definitely takes me back 37 years to our first anniversary (and they thought it wouldn’t last. ;-)) This is Sara, a […]

Gush! Love that last picture in this post. Those dogs are better behaved than my kids, btw 😉

5 Years, 2 Boys, and the Wedding Dress Still Fits!

For most of you ladies, you have probably only ever worn your wedding dress once. My always beautiful daughter-in-law, Danielle, came up with a plan to get to wear hers more than once while married to the same man … on their anniversary every five years! They married in April 2008, and yes, while we’re a few months late, it was a perfect […]

Danielle - August 12, 2013 - 9:14 AM

I may or may not have woken up in the middle of the night to see if these were posted yet 😉 Where to even start…I absolutely LOVE these pictures. I love the lighting, and how you captured how much love Matt and I still have for each other after a whirlwind 5 years, crazy dog and 2 rambunctious boys. You are one amazing photographer, and we are so blessed to have you. Now I can actually have wedding pictures I like hanging on the wall!! You said it best…Can’t wait for 2018! Love you, and thank you again!

Fairly Candid - August 12, 2013 - 9:25 AM

Well if that comment didn’t make my eyes water, I don’t know what would. Happy Anniversary … a few months late. 🙂

Megan - August 12, 2013 - 1:53 PM

I’m tempted to put one of these up in MY house! They are beyond gorgeous!!! What an awesome job, but that job was probably made easier by the natural love that flows between them.

Love you all!

Tracey - August 13, 2013 - 7:52 AM

Love the pictures and the family! They were made for each and
it shows. God Bless you all, and may the years be good to each and everyone of you!

Diane and Jim - August 13, 2013 - 5:15 PM

The pictures are so much fun to look at. We just love that little family. And Danielle you rock!!!!! Matt you are not so bad yourself. Good job Mary.
Jim and Diane

Kathy G. - August 13, 2013 - 6:23 PM

I think she’s even more beautiful than the day she got married. That Matt’s pretty easy on the eyes, too.

LoraLee - August 15, 2013 - 12:55 PM

Oh my gosh Mary. These are the most beautiful pictures!! Those kids are both so darling, and their boys are the cutest ever! What a precious family. I am always blown away by your talent as a photographer! God bless you Honey for giving your sweet kids such a wonderful gift of pictures they will treasure forever. The 50th Anniversary book you made for Lee and me always sits on the end table. We love picking it up often to relive precious memories of past joys. Thank you, thank you for such a thoughtful gift. Love to everyone!

Kathy - August 18, 2013 - 5:54 PM

Wow! Is all I can say. Beautiful photos, beautiful subjects. Matt and Danielle you are an inspiration – here’s to another 50+ years!!!

lsj4157 - August 20, 2013 - 11:19 AM

These photos are beautiful! I see the love behind the camera as well as in front of it. I think you should start taking lots of anniversary pictures!! What a lovely idea Danielle, wish I’d thought of it 33 years ago. It will be a beautiful record of how you two grow and change over time. Stunning. (By the way, Mary, Danielle’s post brought a little moisture to my eyes too and I was already misty looking at those beautiful pictures.)

Ho! Ho! Ho! – Santa and the Mrs.

I must have been a very good girl this year, because not only did I get to see Santa, I got to take his picture … and the Mrs. too! These are our good friends, Bob and Kathy Bassick — aka, Mr. and Mrs. Claus FOR HIRE. They have grandkids out of state so in order to […]

They are perfect – looking forward to their visit on LaMesita Way.

Linda - November 21, 2012 - 10:31 AM

I am still wondering when I got old enough to be friends with Mr. and Mrs. Claus–I remember them from MY childhood. Clearly they do not age at the same rate as we non-magical humans! Bob and Kathie, do I see a Christmas card photo of the kissing pose in our future? I hope so–that is my FAV!

Jenness Johnston - November 21, 2012 - 12:29 PM

Oh my goodness I love these!! They are perfect!!!

Fairly Candid - November 21, 2012 - 1:53 PM

What a cute CREATIVE comment Linda Sue! It was Kathy’s idea for the kiss for her grandkids. Too cute!

Jacob, Katie, and Maple

Jacob is our oldest nephew on the Mouser side and Katie is his bride for a year-and-a-half now. (You can see their engagement pictures here and some wedding pictures here.) They’re both pretty easy on the eyes, and you can imagine what a beautiful smile their kids will have! Okay, let’s not talk about kids just yet because […]

Cassi and Her Cowboy

Meet James and Cassi, son and daughter-in-law to one of my best friends, Linda J., and friends to Mike and I in their own right. We knew James since he was just a small-fry when their family started attending our church, and we’ve known “Classy Cassi” — as I like to call her — since […]

Mary they are a very good looking couple. You must of had so much fun with them. Love the pictures!

lsj4157 - November 14, 2012 - 9:26 AM

Great picts of two of my loves–my handsome son and beautiful daughter-in-law (really, just a daughter). Fine job once again, Mary and of course I’m not playing favorites with the subject matter!!

Leah Ivie - November 14, 2012 - 6:42 PM

I especially like the one with ‘shut up’ on it, I just cant stop laughing. BEAUTIFUL pictures Mary.

Kathy G - November 14, 2012 - 9:54 PM

Oh,Mary, each one is my favorite. What a beautiful couple.

Cassi Johnston - November 15, 2012 - 10:43 AM

James and I love the pictures. We can’t pick a favorite. I have looked at them over and over again, and once again you did an amazing job. We are going to have to purchase some frames :). Thank you so much!

Fairly Candid - November 15, 2012 - 2:38 PM

Thanks everybody! I loved working with James and Cassie. We spent about 35 minutes together and we booked it from location to location to get in as much as we could. Loved what they were wearing and the love they have for one another.

Kelly and Jake [Engagement]

Congratulations to newly-engaged Kelly and Jake! I hope they know each other well enough — they’ve only dated seven short years. 🙂 Of course I wanted to know their engagement story (and you do too, right?) so first of all, Jake picked out the beautiful ring all on his own (nice job Jake!), and secondly he carried it […]

Jacki Kelsch - October 2, 2012 - 12:16 PM

I am so proud of my son, the steps he took to make sure Kelly is the one. He has always been a very loving guy, inside that rough and rugged extreme person he shows… Looking forward to having a new daughter added to the family, she already is, but I guess the legal aspects of it anyway. The pictures are awesome and the photographer caught them in some really good poses… Happiness

Linda Smallwood - October 2, 2012 - 5:32 PM

Love the pics so happy for you!!!!!

Fairly Candid - October 2, 2012 - 8:26 PM

What wonderful comments. Sounds like Kelly has a very loving family to be a part of. The photographer appreciates it too! 🙂

Simon Armstrong - October 5, 2012 - 2:02 PM

These are some great pictures. Congratulations to you both.

Beth - October 6, 2012 - 9:53 PM

Well done. I can feel the emotion. It has been great to watch you evolve.

I mean, you were always great but it seems like each shot becomes greater!

Milt and Maxine – Home on the Range

Milt and Maxine just recently celebrated sixty years. 60. As in a six + a zero. As in 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 20, 40, 60 years of marriage! As in a long time! Wow, seriously people, how many couples do you know that have been married 60 years? I’ve been fortunate to know a […]

OH Mary! These are awesome pictures of the folks! You captured them so well, love all the places you took their pictures, you certainly have an eye for detail and we will forever be in your debt for taking these of Milt and Max! Loved the story line too, so sweet. Thank you for taking the time to make a memory for the kids and grandkids and greats too. Love you!

jennessjohnston2 - August 30, 2011 - 7:23 PM

Tears were in my eyes with the first picture. Many dear memories have been made at Grandma and Grandpa Grapes (as Lily calls him) place and with my wonderful Grandparents. The picture are beautiful!!!! Thanks for capturing all the stories and love.

lsj4157 - August 30, 2011 - 8:18 PM

Mary, thank you, thank you, thank you to you and to your able assistant Mikey. They turned out so well. It just wouldn’t have been right to have their photos done in a studio. This was perfect and, as always, you ROCK!!! Your blog really captured their personalities and the pictures captured their spirits. They were such troopers and did everything you asked and I’m so glad we have some beautiful photos to commemorate their sixty years together. What a blessing to our family. - August 30, 2011 - 8:49 PM

All right you three, you made my day! I was in the grocery store when Mike called so when I hung up I checked my messages and got yours Roberta. Have to say I got a little (tiny bit) misty-eyed. Then later Jenness, then Linda. I’m touched knowing you are touched. You have a legacy up on “the mountain” and it’s nice to have memories — I know that more than anyone. Of course, you already have the memories, but you know what I mean. I really, really enjoyed myself so there you go. I’ve even gotten over the fact that the sun came out as soon as M & M walked into the house! And hey, anybody with the signa M & M have to be some pretty great people, right!

Roberta Johnston - August 31, 2011 - 7:32 PM

I hope you have facebook and can read all the wonderful responses to the pictures you took of the folks! Everyone is so impressed with your work, your blog and your wit! The Lord has truly blessed you with your talent and you are blessing so many others in the process, thank you again sweetie!

Kathy Bettger - August 31, 2011 - 8:14 PM

Again, on top of things, Mary. Wow! These are great. I came in through the FB route, so the news is circulating there. You have touched more lives with your beautiful stories & pix. Keep it up.

Laura Higgs - September 2, 2011 - 12:47 AM

beautiful. May we all be so blessed. - September 5, 2011 - 2:53 PM

Just got home from camping to see your sweet note. I am so grateful for you and Linda who have both told me FB is getting the comments. That is so cool and I am happy for Milt and Maxine because it reflects back to them. They were awesome! I do not have FB (can you believe someone on the planet does NOT have it!) so Linda said she would track some comments for me. How fun! Thank you again Roberta for reading and commenting. It has certainly meant something to me. - September 5, 2011 - 2:56 PM

Seriously, how cool is that! Thank you Kathy for letting me know. Andy and Lauren and Milt and Maxine have created some nice hits to my blog which is always fun to see. I know it is the people that the blog is about that is creating the stir and not me, but fun for me to see people enjoy it.
