Little Lily at 7 Months

This is Lily’s second photo session … her first was as an itty bitty newborn back in February. Now Lily is 7 months old and sporting her first new teeth — the two bottom ones that popped out just days before this session. My friend Gloria — and Gramma to Lily — watches her during […]

Mary……These pictures are adorable! I was so excited when I saw how they turned out. You captured Lily’s personality and so much more. I can’t thank you enough! I’m still giggling at some of them.

Megan - September 19, 2012 - 2:58 PM

That girl has a wardrobe as big as a department store!!! I love them all- what a cute little lady! I think one of my fav’s is the one of her and Grampa…such a natural smile on him, delighted to see his baby!

Aubrey Archuleta - September 19, 2012 - 5:39 PM

Mary, this looks like you had so much fun! What a cutie pie. I am so jealous of all this baby love in your life 🙂

Dawn - September 19, 2012 - 6:45 PM

Oh, Mary! These pictures are simply amazing. I knew my kid was adorable but I never would have imagined that someone could capture such spectacular pictures. Thank you so much for taking these photos, we will treasure them always. 🙂

Fairly Candid - September 19, 2012 - 9:10 PM

I thought you would love them because seriously … how could ANYONE not love this baby’s smile and personality … let alone her Gramm! 🙂

Fairly Candid - September 19, 2012 - 9:10 PM

I KNOW … I’m kind of surrounded by snuggly, chunky cuteness these days … and then to see one a little older like Lily was pretty darn fun!

Fairly Candid - September 19, 2012 - 9:12 PM

Dawn, I’m thrilled you love them. Your baby is more than adorable and she has such a wonderful temperament and is such a ham. I had so much fun taking her pictures. Such a cute sweet baby you and Derek have.

The Endless Smiles of Averi

I may have a new demographic to go after — 4 year olds! What a dream Averi was. Her eyes lit up, her smile lit up, and her personality lit up the entire hour we were together. At times she seemed much more mature than her mere 4-years, but underneath it all was a little […]

What a beautiful little girl, definetly, model material…you got some great pictures of her Mary, not sure which is my favorite, too many awesome ones!! Her parents must be very proud of her!

Itty Bitty Gracie

Grace Lynn, named after her great-grandma, was so adorable at 7 months! I think her folks said she weighed somewhere around 15 pounds dripping wet which is only two pounds more than my 6 and 8 week grandbabies! She may have been itty bitty but she definitely stole the show and I may have vowed never to […]

Charlie and Jackson

Meet Charlie and Jackson, a soon to be first grader and kindergartener. Their family lived across the street from us for years so it was so great seeing them again and how they had grown. Charlie was a mischievous little guy who loved keys.  Mike and I left for camping once only to realize we didn’t have […]

Grandmother Kathy

We met on a windy Spring day this week at the park … one of the best ladies you’ll ever meet — Kathy Bettger and her daughter Molly and two grandsons, 3-1/2 year-old Graham who is allowed to say “I’m almost four” soon, and Caleb who turns a BIG ONE this month. Molly is in […]

Kathy Bettger - April 5, 2012 - 7:31 PM

Thanks, Mary. This all means a lot to me. Great work. You somehow capture the moment. I was there, but didn’t think any of this was going to be worth looking at. You know when to snap and where to place us.

alli - April 5, 2012 - 9:13 PM

Wow! These pictures are priceless! So, so beautiful! I just love them. Molly, your boys are so photogenic! Miss you guys!

Cindy - April 5, 2012 - 10:45 PM

You are such a talented photographer, Mary! Your pictures capture such spirit, life and energy! I always enjoy scrolling through them! And thank you for thinking of me: yes, I’ve been absent from my blog for awhile. I’m helping plan my daughter’s June wedding so I’m busy, busy, busy! But I’m still fitting lots of shooting in: just did a newborn and I’m second shooting a wedding in May. Plus this beautiful spring weather is enticing me to get back to nature photography: my first love! For now, I’m posting my pics on Facebook; I hope to get back to more blogging after my daughter’s wedding! - April 6, 2012 - 8:16 AM

To all of you who have commented … thank you for your kind words on the post of Kathy Bettger with the boys. Bloggers love comments and I am appreciative and encouraged by each one! Mary

They're Back! Ella and the Boys

Ella is 18 months old and you’ve seen her before here (at 6 months) and again at her Onederful Birthday Party last September. It was a year ago at Easter that I photographed her with her cousins, Connor and Landon in a little make-shift studio in my house since it was raining. If I believed in lucky […]

Sammy and Lexxy – Turning 4

Meet soon-to-be four year old fraternal twins, Sammy (in purple) and Lexxy (in aqua), with their naturally curly blonde hair and one freckle per opposite cheek. They are the daughters of a co-worker of mine and were bundles of energy just the way four-year olds should be. The day couldn’t have been any more beautiful with […]

What little cutie pies!!! I love, LOVE the one of them blowing confetti- was that your idea? Genius!

Linda - March 12, 2012 - 9:15 PM

What beautiful little girls–so photogenic. Though my favorite picture was the close up one of Sammy in the purple dress with the serious expression on her face looking over her shoulder at the camera. Something aabout that picture made feel as if I might weep. Your photos are seriously special as always, friend. - March 13, 2012 - 5:37 AM

Thank you Linda. I loved that one too … and the third one of Lexxy hugging herself. My two favorites. - March 13, 2012 - 5:39 AM

Yes and they loved it. It was the only time I could get them to sit together for any length of time. I had a sheet under them so we could do it over and over and over.

Beth - The Botut Blog - March 18, 2012 - 8:58 PM

Wow, you did an excellent job of capturing their personalities in these photos. I can just imagine that they were little balls of energy and I can even feel the energy! Great shots.

Spontaneous Sunday

Linda - February 2, 2012 - 8:46 PM

The innocence of children is so appealing, such beauty in their expressions–even the one of my reluctant phtographee grandson, Micah. That precious girl who followed you and wanted her picture taken–so poignant; the little guy immersed in his books and little Autumn riding her horsie to the stars–all so special. Thanks for sharing Mary.

Kathy Grover - February 3, 2012 - 11:38 AM

One of those little girls is Moo Ka Paw Paw whose family I visit every Tuesday. They don’t have a lot of pictures; maybe I can get a picture made up for her. She is the kind of girl who would gladly say “cheese” if you asked her to pose, though. When the Karen first came here, I remember Lanie and Glenn saying that hugging was not part of their culture. I can tell you that you can get a free big hug from Moo Ka Paw Paw any time. Maybe even two if, unlike me, you spell her name right.

Nice job on the stained glass, too. I can only imagine how tricky that was. - February 3, 2012 - 12:38 PM

That’s sweet Kathy …. I wish I knew which one was the girl you speak of. Did I take her picture and was she is in the first group of Karen children, or in the last pre-school group? I am making copies to take to the Sunday School classrooms for teachers to send home with the children I took photos of.

Diana Aimee Umurungi

I promised you a blog about Cannon Beach … and trust me that is coming … but I wanted to share something more endearing first. About two years ago I made the commitment to do something I’ve never done before — sponsor a child from another country. You know that small inner voice that speaks […]

Oh Mary, what a wonderful blessing. I have always felt just like you described this situation – – I’ll bet letters are written by somebody else, there probablly isn’t even a real child by that name, it’s just made up for publicity. Your story just gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. God bless you for listening to that still small voice.
With much love to you,
LoraLee and Lee - October 15, 2011 - 7:43 AM

You made me smile by actually reading it! On a photography blog, there’s supposed to be pictures, not so much text! No, there’s no rule that says that, I’m just kidding. Thank you Lora Lee, you always bless me with your comments. Have a great weekend. I’m heading off to the Pumpkin Patch with my daughter-in-law and grandson. You know what that means! … stay tuned! 🙂

Kathy Jones - October 21, 2011 - 5:25 AM

Very touching and inspiring! Keep doing what you do best! You are a great example of how God works through people. Love Kathy

Ella’s "ONEderful" First Birthday

She’s a little blonde-haired cutie-pie with three teeth and a Frankenstein walk. Her name is Ella (Bean) and she is now one year old! You know her parents must be thinking “how and when did this happen?” It happens — our kids grow up and learn to walk and talk and work their magic and […]

If I didn’t know better I’d think that photography would be a snap with such a beautiful little girl as your muse. But, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you somehow manage to capture your subjects hearts and personalities. Happy birthday to beautiful little Ella!

Megan - October 9, 2011 - 8:22 AM

How fun! Felt like I was there just looking at all of the pictures! I loved the bench as well, and the white hat was adorable with that dress.
