Anyone remember that cutie above born January 24, 2014? It’s Madison and now she’s ONE! Oh, how fast a year flies! She’s so adorable with her big full cheeks and chunky legs, her eyes that are so dark you can hardly tell where the pupil begins and her iris ends. She’s not walking yet, but boy […]

You’re KILLING me with these!! I want to hold her and squeeze her and make her stay small forever. 🙂 Excellent work Mary! You captured beautiful baby and mama perfectly!

Fairly Candid - January 20, 2015 - 1:35 PM

Thank you Crystal. You crack me up and I completely agree. One year olds get so darn cute from here on out as they learn something new each day to make us laugh.

The Swails Family Boys

Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy. These three had me running! Amanda saw our session as a way to get some new updated images of Gus 5-½, and twins Peter (in orange) and Henry (obviously in green)  — who are 3 years old today so Happy Birthday boys! — but they saw it as a […]

Seeing this post makes me even more giddy that there’s a boy in my belly!!! The hair on those little men was amazing!!!

The Swails Family » - September 30, 2015 - 8:44 PM

[…] I cleaned it up but nope. You can see their one year pics here, their almost two year pics, and almost three year pics should you want to see more cuteness. Amanda and Nick, thank you for a wonderfully fun session […]

Happy Birthday Cowboy! [MJ at 5]

October 20 celebrates the 5th birthday of my oldest g-babe, MJ (Matthew Jr.). A week ago his folks and Grampa went hunting for Danielle’s first bull elk (she got a nice 6 by 5), and I got the joy of watching MJ and Jayden for 48 hours. Our time was filled with all things fun, but […]

Love the surprise shoot. I sure do have two little men and you are great at capturing moments like this

Fairly Candid - October 19, 2014 - 8:48 PM

Thank you for commenting Matt. It was a joy-filled 48 hours for me and MJ kept me laughing on this photo shoot. He’s quite the poser. Love, MOM

Danielle - October 19, 2014 - 9:23 PM

Love these so much! I sent this to my sister and she texted me saying she was crying. When I asked her why she said “because he has grown so much in the past 2 months! I miss seeing him :(” Thank you so much for watching them and taking such cute 5 year pictures.

Fairly Candid - October 19, 2014 - 9:49 PM

Oh, that blesses my heart Danielle. Thank you for sharing that. I’m sure Auntie could use a good dose of nephew hugs right now.

dad - October 19, 2014 - 9:57 PM

Great pics babe. Well it looks like MJ is ready for a horse. He sure has grown up. Good cowboys make good men.

Becky - October 20, 2014 - 8:38 AM

Great pictures. MJ has turned the corner from toddler to boy. Looks like you had a fun day.

Linda J. - October 20, 2014 - 9:09 AM

Oh my, he has the cowboy stance down pat!! Looks like those cute little boys had as much fun as you did. Good job, Gramma, especially for letting MJ take control of the camera and you didn’t even look nervous in the pictures!

Sheila Clark - October 20, 2014 - 1:39 PM

Great pics, love the cowboy outfits! Can’t wait to see our sneak peak!! 🙂

Auntie Megan - October 20, 2014 - 3:33 PM

Well done, Gramma. Well done. He’s always been a cute little man, but WOW…he’s sure turning into a handsome little devil. He’s got the no-smile down just as pat as the smile poses. Before we know it you’ll be posting his senior pics and linking to this post when he first started his Cowboy getup.

Happy Birthday, sweet Nephew!!!

Mary - October 20, 2014 - 3:59 PM

That first picture is one where MJ looks like he really does have a horse tied up at the hitching post. Great looking grand sons.

Fairly Candid - October 21, 2014 - 10:31 AM

Thanks everyone! And just so you know, it WON’T be Grampa and I buying him a horse!!!

Aubrey - October 22, 2014 - 6:58 AM

I love your work but the time spent with grandkids and that special connection makes it even better. The light and colors this time of year just add to your talent. Great pictures of the lil dudes!

The Johnstone’s

I photographed Nick and Olivia two years ago, and now they’re back with a new little baby in tow! Small world that it is, this family moved into the neighborhood I now live in — just around the block practically — so we stayed close to home for this session. Claire is now 6, and little […]

Oh Mary what a darling family. The girls are beautiful and Emmett is such a cutey. Really makes me want to hold him. Lovely family. Hope they will keep coming back for you to photograph them. Fun to watch families grow and change.

Megan - October 14, 2014 - 2:22 PM

First off, I think I’ll just go knock on their door and borrow their wardrobes for my session. Secondly, I’ll take one order of the Emmett special. ♥♥♥

Little Lila Sunshine

I was excited to get the chance to photograph Lila, a newly turned three year old, but having never met her or her mom didn’t know what to expect. She was a little ray of sunshine in her sparkly new sunshine dress with a giggle at everything I said. I’m not sure I ever hear but […]

[…] will do or say — or not say or do. Lila was a quiet little giggle box when I photographed her at 3 so I was looking forward to seeing her now that she recently turned 4. Guess what? She was still a […]

Getting together with cousins was always a highlight of my growing up and here’s a family that feels the same way. Lynette, one of the partners at the law firm I work for, had two sisters in town so it was a perfect time to get some of the cousins together for picture time. Four out of […]

let you take more pictures of him. Nice looking cousins.

Happy Valentine’s Day from 3 Families!

Remember Grayson and Beckham from a few weeks back? They were the first to try out my new background so I saved them for this post. Next up is Beckham, 2-½, and his little brother, Asher, who I photographed 8 months ago as a newborn. They were so cute then and even cuter now — […]

Mary, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to you! These pictures are GREAT!!
The children are so photogenic (with all the extras you have to go to to get them to smile) Ha. Those twins are so precious and Beckham and Asher with those brown eyes and long lashes are also precious and Lily with her brown eyes and blond hair is a doll.
Hope they all have a Happy Valentines day!

Gloria - February 14, 2014 - 7:29 PM

Mary, You did it again! Such cute pictures of all the kids. Love the twins! Talk about personality. And you surprised me with the great pictures of Lily. I was just sure all we had was a sad little girl. She didn’t feel good that day, but you’d never know it by the adorable pictures you got! Thank you so much! I love you my friend!

cathie alonzo - May 28, 2014 - 9:42 PM

I love seeing your grandkids growing up before my eyes. They all bear some slight resemblance to you and Mikie! Lucky kids! And I loved seeing the photos of you two.
I miss you. Hopefully I will see you at Jonette’s wedding. (I don’t think the bridesmaid’s dress looks very good on me…..) Love Cathie
All of the photos are just so beautiful!

Grayson and Hudson – Part II

It’s been almost a year since I photographed Grayson and Hudson for their newborn session and I hadn’t seen them since. Grayson changed the most to me with his red hair and baby blues while Hudson resembled his little cute little baby self with his full lips and beautiful browns. So cute both of them! Cody and […]

Holly Mecham - February 1, 2014 - 10:32 PM

Mary!!!!! The pictures are beautiful!!!! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful pictures of my son and his family. This is a moment in time that you want to catch…that first year down with Twins! They are such good parents, and the boys are such good little babies! It’s been an adventurous year!

Fairly Candid - February 2, 2014 - 9:02 AM

Hi Holly, I asked about you with the kids. Cody says they get over to see you every month or so. Thank you for your nice comment. I’m so glad they gave me the opportunity to photograph them. 🙂

Megan - January 30, 2014 - 8:55 PM

Where are those 16 year old poses coming from? Stop them!!! I was sure you didn’t get any cute ones from that day, and there you go surprising me like always. So happy we got to be the “ad” for your mini-mini sessions. Lucky us having you to love and love us!

Fairly Candid - January 30, 2014 - 9:04 PM

And you know there’s more where these came from. Syd is just too cute when she gets up in front of the camera. She w-o-r-k-s it!

Tracey - January 31, 2014 - 8:42 AM

Love the pictures Mary. They turned out so well and your back drop is cute! Enjoy using it.

Danielle - January 31, 2014 - 10:23 AM

These turned out so cute! Jayden always smiles, but that to will change I’m sure. As for Mj…well put any sort of “boy” items or anything that can be used as a weapon in his hand, and he is golden! We always love those “tricks” you pull out of your sleeve, and Syds sassy pose kills me! That girl can rock it! Great pictures, as always!!

Linda - January 31, 2014 - 4:37 PM

Gee whiz Mary, your kids and grandkids will always get the BEST Valentines gifts with the great photos you take. The kind they will remember well into adulthood. Makes the cards and books or cookies I get mine look kinda lame. Oh well, I guess we can’t all be creative, amazing photographers. Now you got me thinking about what I might do differently this year. . . .still thinking. . . .still thinking.

Fairly Candid - February 2, 2014 - 9:04 AM

Oh seriously Linda! Who’s the fun grandma and gramps who goes bike riding with the kids and who bought snow shoes for everyone so that you can all go out in the snow hiking together. Let’s just talk about those memories, shall we? I have nothing over you girl. 🙂

Gloria - February 4, 2014 - 10:44 AM

Mary……Love, Love, Love all the pictures of the kids and what you did with them! I have to say although they are all great; I especially love that last picture of Simone with what looks to be a fixed focus on Jayden’s sucker. It doesn’t matter that she has one in her hands. The kids have grown so much! Count me in on a photo shoot for Lily….we just need to find a date!
