Baby Kennedy [Newborn]

Be still my beating-for-baby Gramma heart. Kennedy was 18-days old when she came to be photographed and she was so sweet. Seriously, how am I supposed to wait until April for my next two grandbabies when I see sweetness like this! Thank you to my sister-in-law, Vickie, for gifting this photo session to Abbey and her […]

Oh my sweet, sweet, sweetness…she is ADORABLE! You’re on to something with this baby-picture-taking you’ve been doing…they’re turning out incredible. I’m insanely jealous of the bows.

Robin Biddinger - October 10, 2011 - 6:22 PM

These pictures are beautiful! They show my grand-daughter in all her splender. I can now see Abbey’s smiling eyes in Kennedy. Thank you for the pictures and thank you Tyson and Abbey for giving me such a unique gift!

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - October 10, 2011 - 7:33 PM

Robin, how sweet of you to comment and join my blog. I am thrilled! Your granddaughter is quite the beauty and I’m sure you’ll agree there is nothing quite as special as being a grandparent. Enjoy.

Abbey - October 10, 2011 - 7:41 PM

Hi Sharon, nice to meet you … by e-mail that is. 🙂 Thanks for your comment — really sweet of you to respond and it sounds like Abbey and Tyson have a pretty wonderful support group surrounding them! And as you know, it takes a village to raise a child.

The Beautiful wonderful woman holding this baby is so special I only wish I had had enough sense to be the man she needed when I had the chance.A few years later I grew up and tr I ed to convince you give me another chance, you said no brakeine my heart.I know I desered it, but I was so serious I had realized what I had and lost.I have never gotten over it.How I could gave been so stupid not to hive you all the love you needed but I was young and so immature.
God I realized how much I loved you but it was to late you had moved on.Problet a hundred women later and know woman has touched my heart like you did.I’m old now and still love you.I’m sorry I grew up late.but know one man loved you a life time.God Bless you Robin… you are the one…you touched my soul…You are special.. Your Mom, Dad, And Sister loved me as I did them you all touched me in such a special way. God how I would love one more chance…I LOVE YOU

Baby Marlies [Newborn]

Tiny. That’s what Marlies was. Tiny. None of my own babies or grandbabies were that small and while many of you have had smaller babies, this little sweetie looked pretty darn little to me. She weighed 6.9 pounds at birth so nothing out of the ordinary, but the mind forgets that babies are really that […]

Love the big yawn!!!

Megan - August 28, 2011 - 9:41 AM

Oh my, she’s gorgeous!!! What a sweet little girl…I love the bows!

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - August 28, 2011 - 12:26 PM

Pretty baby for sure! I made up the bows just as they were arriving by tearing apart a necklace I have, finding some seam binding, lace, and elastic in my old sewing kit, sewing them all together, then pulling out my trusty hot glue gun to attach the flowers. I need to buy some flowers though because I am going to reassemble my necklace cause it was new! 🙂

Kathy Grover - August 28, 2011 - 4:47 PM

I don’t know how to thank you enough for producing the beautiful pictures of Marlies and precious Roman and Jenny. My heart is filled with gladness.

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - August 28, 2011 - 7:48 PM

You just did thank me enough — your heart glad makes my heart glad.

Kay Lynn - August 29, 2011 - 9:07 PM

Jenny and Roman said you’d taken photos .. I had to see if they were up yet! I love them. The one with the big yawn is my fave. 🙂

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - August 29, 2011 - 10:00 PM

Thank you Kay Lynn for writing. You know I had all these stations and stuff planned, but Marlies had her own plan. Babies are like that and that’s the beauty and adventure in it. She’s pretty dang cute!

Lori - August 30, 2011 - 11:56 AM

I love them! Great work Mary!!

Kathy Jones - August 31, 2011 - 9:02 PM

Wow! What beautiful pictures of a beautiful new family! You captured some great moments that I am sure will be treasured for a lifetime.

Kathy Bettger - September 6, 2011 - 2:53 PM

Beautiful people, beautiful baby, beautiful photos. Good work by all.

lsj4157 - September 6, 2011 - 8:38 PM

Beautiful baby, happy family, all captured with Mary’s extraordinary eye for capturing the spirit of the moment and the heart of her subjects, who just happen to be some of my favorite young people. Blessings to Jenny, Roman and Marlies–and the whole Royer/Grover families. Thanks for sharing Mary.

Sheila Webb Clark - September 12, 2011 - 9:30 AM

Just perfect! What a sweet little baby. Great job on the newborn photos!

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - September 12, 2011 - 9:41 AM

Today is a good day. Smile. Mary

Thank you Sheila! Didn’t get one picture that I had in mind to get, but that’s how babies are and how can you go wrong with ANY baby picture, right? So guess what?! I am going to be a new grandma again — twice. Both my daughter-in-law and daughter are expecting three days apart in April. I’ll get lots of practice then!

“Mae” I have one please! [Newborn]

Meet Mae, the daughter of my nephew, Kirk, and his sweet wife, Amy — shown here at just two-weeks old. Having never photographed a newborn before (officially as portraits), I asked if I could have the honor so they packed her up with brother Charlie and came to my house. My daughter came over to […]

Linda - July 15, 2011 - 9:59 PM

Who knew these were your first newborn professional portraits!! Sooo precious and soooo good. (Though I’m pretty sure that some of your photos of your own grandbabies would qualify.) However, as the proud grandmother of 6, I would lose my title if I didn’t think mine were just as cute!! It is what we grandmothers do.I think I’m going to send your link to James and Cassi to see if we can’t start on #7–Mae, I have one more?

Linda Johnston - July 15, 2011 - 10:01 PM

Just so there is no confusion–the above reply was from Linda Johnston. I know you know that Mary, but readers of your blog might not know the difference between the Lindas!

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - July 15, 2011 - 10:09 PM

No, I can attest that I never took these types of pictures with my grandbabies — dang it! Yes you Mae have another one … I’ll bet James and Cassie are working on #7 already! (Blush) And I concur, you do have beautiful, cute, funny, and smart grandbabies too! What a great time of life.

Megan - July 18, 2011 - 5:56 AM

Congratulations on successfully completing your first infant photo shoot! While I simply adore them all, I love the b/w with her in the little hat and the one of her head in focus and her body out of focus. You did a marvelous job- Kirk and Amy are so lucky to have these- good luck picking!!!

amy - July 19, 2011 - 3:06 PM

Mary, thank you so much for the amazing pictures! When I sent the one of the two kids to my mom, she cried. You have been so generous to our family and I want you to know how much we appreciate it! Of course, you are welcome any time to come over for a baby hold. 🙂 love them!

Baby Ellie [Older Newborn]

Laura Higgs - May 3, 2011 - 4:46 PM

precious!!! I think you did a fantastic job. I love the 2nd picture most. You can see the expression of love on Laura’s face and the light is perfect.

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - May 3, 2011 - 10:00 PM

Thank you Laura (a different Laura folks)! I loved the ones with Laura too – they were definitely my favorite and if I ever do this again, I will definitely know how to do some shots better or different … I hope. It was hard!
