Little sweet Orlando Easton (or “Lando” as they call him) was so precious but apparently his momma forgot to tell him he was supposed to sleep during his newborn session. I guess he didn’t want to miss a thing, and as long as he was swaddled, he was quite content. He was just five days […]

Auntie Megan - July 27, 2012 - 3:06 PM

Oh man, Mom. She’s so flipping cute and you got so many good ones! I remember you saying at the end of it – “If I get 12 good ones I’ll be pleased”…and ahhhh!!! Ok, I have 3 favorites- here they are:

# 6 and #10 from the top…the b/w of her in the swaddle by the front door…and the first one of her and Leah. Ok, that’s four. Well, honestly- I like them all…I’m an Auntie in love.

Another job well done. Thanks for working so hard and long for us!

Oh, and that last one of my baby kills me. ♥

Roberta - July 10, 2012 - 6:05 PM

I know we are all prejudiced when it comes to our own grandbabies, though I don’t have any, I am the proud great aunt of some pretty special little people, BUT what a darling baby! Mary, love them all, each one made me smile even more than the last! Love the green hat too, tell Mirra’s parents/grandparents that they are truly blessed! - July 10, 2012 - 6:11 PM

Roberta, so great hearing from you again! I have to agree, this was a beautiful baby, especially her skin. Love all that hair too. As always, thank you for commenting. The new parents will love reading it. 🙂

Linda - July 10, 2012 - 9:23 PM

Oh my, I forget how incredibly tiny and utterly precious they are as newborns. Makes my four year old “grandbabies” seem like a pack of Incredible Hulks!! She is so beautiful and thoroughly loveable that it is absolutely no wonder that Grandma Julie and Aunt Emily couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces. Congratulations and many blessings to Melissa and Dan and the whole Stromer clan. (Can’t wait to see how easily little Mirra will wrap her Grandpa Terry around her chubby little finger!) Terrific job Mary–You are so able to capture the soul of your subjects in your photos–how you do it with a sleeping baby I’m pretty sure is a true God-given talent.) - July 10, 2012 - 9:37 PM

You’re back!!! Yay!!! Thanks Linda, I love that Dan and Melissa and the rest of the crew can revel in your comment. Oh and Terry’s a gonner — no doubt about it. Wink.

Emily - July 10, 2012 - 9:51 PM

I LOVE THEM!!! Oh Mary….you did a wonderful job. I think she is just the cutest thing and it won’t be long until I can braid her hair. I’m so excited that she is finally here. Thank you! - July 10, 2012 - 10:02 PM

I agree with you Em … she’s pretty dang cute and I think I know what cute is in a baby … I have four of them after all. 🙂 You’re going to have a ball with her.

Megan - July 10, 2012 - 10:04 PM

Ok, so besides my baby- this is my FAVORITE newborn shoot to date!!! Holy moly- she is adorable and I am loving the hands on cheeks pictures!!! The third from the top was my very favorite- I love that little chunky body all nestled in and twisted- so flipping sweet.

I want another (newborn) baby! (Can you believe I just said that???)

Diane Drotzman - July 11, 2012 - 10:19 AM

Mary you did such a wonderful job. Every picture of little Mirra is perfect but she looks so perfect. The second picture from the bottom is my favorite. I like the way the light is glowing off her beautiful little rosey cheeks and I love the hat. Purple is Mirra’s color. Dan and Melissa are going to be great parents. Congrat’s to the whole Stromer family.

Laura Higgs - July 14, 2012 - 8:14 PM

Stellar job as always and what a great ” subject “. Sweet potato pie she is cute!

Kathty - July 15, 2012 - 1:27 PM

Too cute for words! What a beautiful baby. She is so sweet and her skin looks so smooth and soft. Mary – great job – we’re gonna start calling you Mary ‘Geddes’ Mouser! - July 15, 2012 - 7:01 PM

I like Mary Ann Geddes better. Ha! In my dreams! Thanks Kathy. Wasn’t she just one of the prettiest babies ever (everyone’s g-babes excluded). 🙂

Aubrey - July 15, 2012 - 10:46 PM

Simone Olivia [Newborn]

My second granddaughter and fourth grandchild, Simone Olivia, is now two weeks old! I’ve been a tad bit busy with all things baby, but finally I have Simone’s newborn photos done of the gazillion I’ve taken thus far! I shot hers over a period of two days — the first in her big sister’s doll […]

Wow,what great poses and pics. Loved them all.

Kathy Jones - May 12, 2012 - 9:48 AM

Laura Higgs - May 12, 2012 - 7:17 PM

I know I’m biased but these are my favorite newborn pictures yet!!!!! I LOVE them. You do such a nice job. I think Simone looked so much like Syd in her 1 day pictures but she has changed soo much in these last pictures you have taken. I can’t wait to get my hands on her. Great job.

Megan - May 13, 2012 - 3:02 PM

Argh! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pictures and the little people in them!!! I can’t stop looking and then I think- “I’ll let her know my favorites” and then I write them down and it’s all but like 3 of them, so that’s ridiculous to list!!! The captured smirk in the red hat is a favorite as is the first “plain” one you see with Simone without bows/hats. I love the first little bed one and the lips on her in all of them make me want to go kiss her. The one you got with her eyes wide open is so Sydney it’s scary- and that little nose is perfect. Of course all the ones of Sis are my favorite, but the last one with the big eyes and all those tiny teeth is killer. How on earth am I supposed to pick for my wall? Good thing I have LOTS of space- I might just take one of each! 😉

Thanks again for sweating your bum off (literally) while taking these and working so hard to edit them so I could see them! Even if these weren’t my adorable kids, I’d tell you that you are an amazing photographer who captures such sweetness!!!

Love you!

Deanna - May 14, 2012 - 10:08 AM

Beautiful job Mary!! - May 14, 2012 - 10:24 AM

You are biased, I am biased, Megan is biased and that’s okay! Simone just keeps looking more like Syd all the time … It wasn’t as strong in the beginning, but now it’s like looking at Syd. In some ways I’m glad she is hear and a few weeks have passed so that now things are settling down, but in other ways I know this first year will fly by too quickly. Dang. I’m sure looking forward to seeing Helaina again and meeting Indy. I hope I get to photograph them. Wink. Wink. - May 14, 2012 - 10:26 AM

You are always so uplifting. You encourage me to want to do another one because every time I finish a newborn shoot I swear it’s my last one! You’d think I’d lose weight from all the sweating!

Gloria - May 14, 2012 - 1:00 PM

Great job Mary! I love them all! What beautiful children!

Patti - May 15, 2012 - 3:18 PM

It’s obvious that great care and love went into those pictures, Mary. They are wonderful!
