A Friend and Family Affair

It’s no secret that I have been blessed with many wonderful long-time friends so far in my life, Mary being one of them. We met in high school and have remained good friends ever since. She is the owner of Salon and Co. (hair and nails) in Star and has been my hairdresser for the past 20 years (yep, she knows all my secrets). She is artistic and bold and laughs loud and loves hard. She was my model for grandparenting way back when, having three teenage grandgirls and a grandson who love her to pieces. She asked me to shoot her family and I was honored … all while being a bit scared what with all the combinations … but everyone was so patient and cooperative so thank you everyone! You will meet Mary, her hubs Mark, his daughter Marla, and her hubs Ray, who are celebrating one year of marriage so congratulations to them (with a few extra pics)! Then there is Mary’s daughter Stacy, hubs Clint, and daughter Alex, who I had the joy of photographing last year for her senior pictures, followed by not-much-younger sister, Madeline. They have a cousin Megan, a senior this year, who they love to hang with so you’ll see pictures of the three of them — beautiful girls all. Last, but certainly not least is Mary’s son Stuart, wife Catherine, daughter Megan and son, Luke, who had his first baseball game the night of the session. 🙂 We finished up just as the dust bowl arose and Mike and I then made it to a surprise birthday party 5 minutes before the guest of honor. See, things always work out … so why was I worrying?

Thank you everyone. So great seeing you all again! Love, Mary

I think you did a stellar job! I think they are the best pictures ever taken of my mom. My baby, Madeline, looks like a model. My fav is the close up of my mom and Luke. You definitely have a talent. Thanks for making picture taking bearable and dare I say, “fun”! You will be hearing from us next year at this time for Madeline’s senior pictures.

Thank you for that awesome comment Stacy. Your girls are both so gorgeous and comfortable in their skin — if I could only have been that way at their age. Great job of parenting Stacy. I can’t tell you how much I loved your hair too. So flattering. And as for Madeline, I can’t wait to photograph her. I love one-on-ones with seniors so much. Thanks again, Mary
