Dan and Leah’s Wedding – Part 2 [Dan, Leah, Hannah]

We met around 3:30 for the formal family pictures you saw in Part 1, and then I had a little time to take Dan and Leah’s pictures before heading to the little church just down the street for a 5:00 ceremony. There was a pond with two geese, a dock on the pond, and a […]

What a beautiful little family!!! How I loved all the ones of my sweet little niece (and who wouldn’t?!)

The 2nd picture of Leah looking into the camera is by far my favorite- she looks so renaissance and lovely there and Danny smiling at her is just the quintessential wedding picture. Also, the 5th one of her pulling his suspenders…raar! So fun!!!

dad - July 2, 2013 - 6:30 PM

I can’t believe the QUALITY of the pics. It would make any professional look like an amature. What great pics. All of them . Great job.

Fairly Candid - July 2, 2013 - 6:43 PM

Oh, and you’re not biased in any way are you honey. 🙂

Dan and Leah’s Wedding – Part 1 [The Families]

I got the honor of taking pictures at a really beautiful wedding on June 22 of Dan and Leah Gerichs. Dan is an older brother to my son-in-law, Robby, so it was such fun to be in the company of this entire family again. As another bonus, I got to meet Leah’s family, every bit […]

Lovely, absolutely lovely. It was so fun to watch you ‘work’ that day- you’re amazing!

Megan - June 26, 2013 - 1:30 PM

P.S. Favorite picture of this post: Leah and Vivian looking at each other smiling.

Vivian - June 30, 2013 - 2:13 PM

The pictures are all just fabulous and I am not sure I have a favorite they are all so nice but I did really enjoy the picture of the brothers where Robbie has the sunglasses in his back pocket. The Dad connection.

Aubrey Archuleta - June 30, 2013 - 2:27 PM

Beautiful pictures, Mary. What a special day. I love this type of wedding with country chic touches, adore that guestbook idea, and that bride’s dress!!! Swoon.

Fairly Candid - June 30, 2013 - 8:37 PM

Thank you Vivian for your nice comment. It sure was a beautiful wedding and I loved the beautiful dresses in your family … great colors too! I was a few shots in when I noticed the glasses in Robby’s back pocket and while I gave a second’s thought to editing them out, I decided they told a story and should be left in.

My favorite kind of post- catch up and bits of pieces of what you’ve been up to and all the fun inbetween, candid shots that have taken place to tell the story.

LOVE the sweet smile on Syd’s face before church- and can envision Sydney telling MJ- “MJ. MJ. EMMMMJAYYYY! Do you want gum? You want me to get you some gum?” in the picture where she’s meeting his eyes. That first picture of the dunes is amazing and it was fun to see the little raccoon up close and personal- since he didn’t give US that opportunity!

Oh, and I busted up when you made the neighbor comment. Let’s just hope she’s not a subscriber. 😉

And lastly, Mone with the broccoli. Ahhhh, fulfilled.

Danielle - June 27, 2013 - 1:21 PM

Best one of all…the one of the dads and their sons 🙂 They all have the perfect smile on their faces!

Kathy - June 29, 2013 - 6:44 PM

Great fun pics! Love the Dad picture with son and grandsons

Kathy - June 29, 2013 - 6:49 PM

Thanks for the pics of my beautiful grand girls! They are so pretty in their ballet shots. I need the one of the 3 together on my iPad screen shot!!! I also love the shot of Abbey. And oh, that sweet devilish smile of Sydney beats them all! What a killer!

Aubrey Archuleta - June 30, 2013 - 2:29 PM

These are my favorite types of posts. I get the whole she-bang that makes up your wonderful life. It really is sweet to see such a full, beautiful series of events. I’m blessed to take a peek in through cyberspace.

Fairly Candid - June 30, 2013 - 8:39 PM

Thanks Aubrey, it’s not a perfect life by any means, but these g-babes sure make it more special!

Fairly Candid - June 30, 2013 - 8:40 PM

One of my favorites as well … right after MJ and Sydney with the flowers. They are both going into frames.

Linda - July 1, 2013 - 10:29 PM

There is some extreme cuteness taking place in these pictures. As always your photos are full of life and fun. Gosh you even made it look like Abi was enjoying her ballet performance!

Cassi and James [Maternity]

I’ve known James since he was a little bitty baby when his momma used to rock him in the cradle … in those old cotton fields back home. Oh, I crack myself up! Ok, just seeing if you are actually reading this. So, I’ve known James since he was a little KID … a scrawny, […]

Seriously? You came up with that idea on your own? I’m so pinning it on pinterest for you- it’s going viral, lady!

CANNOT believe how ridiculously amazing Mama looks- and the love in the eyes of these two in every picture…you said it best…sometimes life is just wonderful.

Tracey - June 20, 2013 - 8:37 AM

Love the pictures! What a cute couple! So happy they are having twins! They will have so much fun! I hope they enjoy every minute. It is tough sometimes but I know from experience it is a wonderful time. Love and Best wishes to them and their family!

lsj4157 - June 20, 2013 - 11:54 AM

Oh my goodness, these pictures are beautiful, clever and perfect!!! You do have an amazingly creative brain my friend. You captured the Johnston Jr’s perfectly. Of course your models are my baby boy and his beautiful bride and my twin grandbabies (who are probably coming very soon)! The one of Cassi looking serenely into the camera with her big brown doe eyes is exquisite and brought tears to my eyes. Love, love, love them all.

Roberta - June 20, 2013 - 4:40 PM

One very proud auntie here, how would anyone choose? They are so sweet of both Cassi, James and the twins! So excited to see all of these maternity photos, great job as always, Mary! But then again I’m prejudiced and think your models were the best ones to date!

Auntie RoRo (:

Cassi and James - June 21, 2013 - 7:47 AM

Wow! James and I love, love, love the pictures! They turned out amazing/BEAUTIFUL. Thank you so much for taking our maternity pictures. We went back and forth about taking pictures and we are both sooooo glad that we did. We looked at the pictures over and over last night and we can’t pick just one…so we will have a wall full of AMAZING pictures. We can’t wait for you to take pictures again for us in a couple of weeks.

Thank you again!

Fairly Candid - June 24, 2013 - 8:38 AM

So glad you had me get pictures too Cassie because you are such a beautiful pregnant momma! I loved your choice of colors too which really gave the pictures a spark … as if you two love birds weren’t spark enough. It won’t be long now! To the rest of you, thank you for all the nice compliments on my part of things. They always encourage me and I appreciate you all! 🙂 Mary

[…] us did … but James and Cassie actually pulled it off.(To see their maternity session, click here.) They finally welcomed Paige and Cooper into their world on Wednesday, July 10 and God created […]

Three Sisters

Abie, Tori, and Sami are three sisters who were in town visiting their grandma and grandpa from Carlsbad, New Mexico. Grandma arranged the photo session but sadly couldn’t be there so Grandpa came in her place as well as the parents who I got to order around … “Here Jim, hold this reflector … carry this stool … […]

Love the pictures Mary! I don’t know which one I like the
most. The Girls are so beautiful and different. Love their
eyes and their smiles, freckles and fresh look.

Aubrey Archuleta - June 11, 2013 - 8:20 PM

So different from my world of boys but so sweet! Love those freckles especially 🙂

Maureen Vernon - June 11, 2013 - 8:58 PM

Mary, you did such a super job shooting my grandgirls! You chose a lovely setting, and Don, Jim, and Stacia enjoyed seeing you work. You gave us a long-lasting memory of their trip to Boise.

Fairly Candid - June 11, 2013 - 9:40 PM

Maureen, thank you for the lovely compliment! I think photo sessions should be fun so I hope the girls had as much fun as I did. Kudos to you for having them bring their “lips”. I might have to steal that idea for the future. Hey, I take credit anyway I can. Ha!

To Tracy and Aubrey, thank you girls too for your comments. You always lift me up … and I agree with both of you … the freckles were so cute!
