My Little Piece of Heaven – Riggins

With this freezing inversion getting the best of me, I thought it was time to edit pictures taken last August of one of my favorite camping spots of all time — Riggins — where it is so unbearably hot that I have to wear cool wet scarves around my neck and point a battery-operated fan in […]

Your Man - January 24, 2013 - 5:38 PM

I love it. Can’t wait to go back this summer. Anybody else wanna go?

Matt - January 24, 2013 - 8:20 PM

Well Dani and I were gonna go this year while you two stayed home and babysat for 5 or 6 days. Boy oh boy what a deal.

Diane - January 25, 2013 - 7:03 AM

Beautiful pictures. I love the fruit on the tree pix’s. And of course the Hell’s Canyon shots are awesome. Good job!!!

Mary - January 25, 2013 - 8:34 AM

So which one did you pick for your wall

Linda J. - January 25, 2013 - 10:21 AM

I love these!! They bring back memories of fun times with amazing friends, hot days in the sun, the delicious experience of cooling off in the river, long walks while reveling in God’s handiwork (and one little broken toe). Ahh, is it August yet?

Kathy - January 26, 2013 - 9:28 AM

I am more than ready!!! Swimming in the river, melting in the hot sun, enjoying great friends, I am SO THERE!

Fairly Candid - January 28, 2013 - 9:14 AM

You mean the Salmon River … but they do look an awful lot alike in spots. You probably just had wishful thinking that you were back in Hells Canyon again. 🙂

Fairly Candid - January 28, 2013 - 9:16 AM

Boy oh boy my boy has a sense of humor. NOT (going to happen). 😉 Love, Mom

Snow What We Did?

We went sledding! Our family owns a business called Mouser Machine Shop located over by Costco where Mike’s folks bought land and built in 1990 (before that it was in a shop behind Grampa’s house). For as long as we have been there, there has been an empty lot next door that is flat, without […]

Oh my JOY. Seeing those pictures, those frozen faces, those laughs and the snow mists made my night. What a spectacular day with many like that in the future I hope!

You guys are amazing Grandparents…and seeing Dad happy like that is just good for my soul. I could never get enough of it.

P.S. Image #28 of dad laughing is my favorite.

Kathy Norwood - January 17, 2013 - 5:58 AM

Looks like so much fun. Hope there is some snow left when we get there!

Tracey - January 17, 2013 - 7:58 AM

Those are the best. Looks like a very wonderful day! Glad everyone had such a great time.

Becky - January 17, 2013 - 8:31 AM

I bet you all were sore from laughing that hard. What a fun day.

Katie - January 17, 2013 - 8:47 AM

I remember doing this when we were little! Thanks for the wonderful pictures!

Linda J. - January 17, 2013 - 11:45 AM

Looks like the happy scene that was happening at my house that day too! However, my family’s happy faces will have to be burned into my memory as my g-babies don’t have a wonderful photographer for a gramma! (Though I did manage a few picts.) Great job of capturing the joy Mary!

Fairly Candid - January 17, 2013 - 12:43 PM

Knowing your family, I can hear the laughter too … especially since it was a birthday celebration as well. Happy Birthday to James and Jeremy!

Fairly Candid - January 17, 2013 - 12:44 PM

Good memories recycled. :-} Thanks for all the fun comments everyone.

I have to tell you that I had a blast doing this session the day after Christmas when it was only 29 degrees out side. The snowy cloud cover gave such beautiful diffusion and the slightly falling snow was an added bonus. I can’t even fathom that I was out in that cold for an […]

Megan - January 7, 2013 - 2:23 PM

First off…I want that bomber jacket- she is rockin’ it. Love those gorgeous blue eyes (or were they green?) with that brown hair…sometimes I think that’s what Syd will look like when she’s older…brown hair and killer eyes.

The first pic is my favorite- what a flirtly little look. And how fun to do them in the snow! At least it was a little snow, not like the inches we’re getting today!!!

When MJ and Syd were 8 and 6 months old, I had professional photos taken at O2Photography by Jennifer Oates. The first photo below, believe it or not, is still my computer screen saver, not to mention a $200 11×14 on my wall in the living room. I can’t tell you how much I love […]

Megan - January 6, 2013 - 12:52 PM

What is there NOT to love about this post? Each face holds a special part of my heart! I just can’t get over what cute little souls they all are with their unique personalities and differences making it all the more fun.

Thanks so much for the pics, Mom- what a treat for us!!!

Megan - January 6, 2013 - 12:52 PM

Yeah, we totally need to work on a “brag wall” for Grampa!

Matt - January 6, 2013 - 4:26 PM

Great pictures mom. Love all of them and just told Dani I want a picture for the house. Love ya

Amazing pictures, Mary! Matt, Danielle, Megan, and Robbie…You guys have some BEAUTIFUL children. I can’t believe how big they are all getting. Time goes way to fast!

Christine - January 24, 2013 - 6:28 PM

Soo cute! I love the narration you gave the babes too! Syd and MJ do look older! Great pics as always!

Fairly Candid - January 24, 2013 - 8:07 PM

Hey Christine! So nice to hear from you! Thank you for your nice comments, and I agree, the big kids are getting BIG!

Christy Davenport - January 28, 2013 - 4:44 PM

I love the top photo… seriously my all time favorite! I’m jealous you got such a great pose out of them!!! What sweethearts!!!

Katelyn and the Boys [Mini-Session]

These photos are only now being revealed as a request of Katelyn to keep them off the blog until after Christmas. Seems enlargements were part of family gifts this year and she didn’t want me spoiling the surprise. It was the first weekend of November when we shot these photos. The weather was warm and the […]

Susan - January 8, 2013 - 7:03 PM

I was a thrilled recipient of one of the enlargements on Christmas morning! I sat quietly on the couch – tears rolling down my cheeks – overwhelmed by a sense of peace. I have prayed through the years that my children would meet Mr. or Mrs. “Right”. Logan is truely in love with this girl and I am so excited that she is our future daughter (in-law)! (official engagement was on Christmas Day) We love Carter and Mason too! Mary, you have an amazing gift in capturing “personality” in your pictures – and Logan said this wasn’t an easy session! Thanks for your patience- my gift is beautiful and probably one of my favorites for this year!
