She’s Got the Moves!

If your back hurts like mine does after looking at these pictures, then you aren’t as flexible as Alexa! Actually, I doubt very many people are! Alexa and her mom, Dyan, were both such down-to-earth nice people and I loved our time together. I was completely drawn into the beautiful lines, agility, athleticism, elegance, and […]

How fun and original for you to be able to do a shoot like this! I loved the centered squat one in the limestone windows- and I couldn’t help but think of little red riding hood at the end. Gorgeous girl and gorgeous poses!!!

Mary - November 3, 2012 - 7:07 PM

Fairly Candid - November 15, 2012 - 3:03 PM

I have gotten so many verbal compliments about this shoot … even my son-in-law commented on how cool it was. Everyone is saying what a beautiful girl this is and how agile Alexa is. I agree on both accounts!

Mary, what wonderful pictures! You did such an amazing job, and it was so fun to watch you work with Maks. You have a special gift, and it is wonderful that you are sharing it with others. Now the hard part. Which ones do I frame? Oh I LOVE being a Grandma!!

Boy oh Boy(s)!

I am fortunate to have two jobs that I love. One as a part-time receptionist at a prestigious law firm in downtown Boise, and the other as Fairly Candid. Sometimes the two intertwine as I photograph people I work with — or in this case for. Susan is the Executive Director of the firm and […]

Megan - October 23, 2012 - 7:44 AM

Hello GORGEOUS blue eyes!!! This looked like a fun shoot- I loved the park bench one, the swings with that awesome dress, and I thought the blue wall with the water on the ground and her reflections were amazing. Such a natural smile- the laughing ones captured what I expect to be a fun and bubbly personality.

Tracey - October 23, 2012 - 7:48 AM

Mary, Bailee is BEAUTIFUL!!! Love the pictures. What a great time of year to have pictures taken. The colors were great! You would never know she wasn’t a model. You both did a great job if I say so myself.

Hannah - October 23, 2012 - 2:06 PM

Blake and Sara’s Wedding

Blake and Sara just got married and guess who was the actual hired photographer! Ok, so some of you have heard me say “I don’t shoot weddings” and that would be true … by there’s always exceptions in life and this was one of them. For me, there are too many “what ifs” and things […]

Mary, OMG….I’m speechless by all the wonderful photos you captured! Priceless, perfect and memories of a lifetime for Blake & Sara as well as the whole family! I so thank you for being such a wonderful friend to take on this special project. You kept telling me you don’t do Weddings, and I’m here to tell you…. not only do you DO Weddings, but you do them fantastically! Loved the photos, the experience and I love you!

Sara Wickham - October 15, 2012 - 9:17 PM

OMG Mary!!!! I don’t know where to begin! The pictures capture the day absolutely PERFECTLY!! You did an outstanding job and this is all so much more than I expected! The pictures are beautiful and I know you worked SO hard on that day for us. I cannot thank you enough for memorializing our wedding day and for capturing the love that we feel for each other so accurately. I know I was not the easiest bride to work with in the beginning >_> (nerves got the best of me ^_^) but I LOVE that you were able to capture such a change in me from before the wedding to when I was with Blake again. I think those pictures tell a beautiful and unique story that perfectly defines our relationship. Thank you again SO very much for being such a talented photographer and for letting our wedding be your first! I hope it was a great experience for you because Blake and I could not be more thrilled with the results!!

Fairly Candid - October 15, 2012 - 9:20 PM

Couldn’t wait till the morning I see. Hee hee. Wasn’t sure how you could have. Glad you love them. So happy I got to do this for your family. Love you right back. Me

Fairly Candid - October 15, 2012 - 9:26 PM

Ok, you made me tear up with your sweet note. Like I told you at the hotel, I was a nervous bride too so I COMPLETELY understood what you were dealing with. Everything went pretty smoothly, with a few hiccups on my end that I expected being my first wedding and all, but it was a good experience and your day was great. I hear such wonderful things from Gloria about all of you and I felt so comfortable with the two of you from the very get-go. There were times this past year when I said “why did I agree to do a wedding!” but you know what? I’m glad I did after seeing the pictures, and I’m glad it was for you.

Dawn Wickham - October 15, 2012 - 10:41 PM

Mary, these are absolutely amazing. There are photographers that have been doing weddings for 20 years and haven’t been able to achieve shots like these. You really have the talent and I honestly think you should continue doing them! Thank you so much for being there for Blake and Sara and for the rest of our family. These photos mean the world to every last one of us.

Fairly Candid - October 15, 2012 - 10:54 PM

Wow Dawn, that’s so kind of you! Should another opportunity come along, I promise to give it some thought. 🙂

Tracey - October 16, 2012 - 8:36 AM

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom, Congratulations to the Parents for raising such wonderful families. Congratulation to the parents for 33 years, and I hope you have a whole lot more happy anniversaries. Best Wishes to all! Mary you’re the best and don’t doubt yourself. It was hard work but you can’t tell it by the pictures. They are quite professional. I hope to see more wedding photos in our future with Fairly Candid!

Fairly Candid - October 16, 2012 - 9:55 AM

Thanks Tracey! It WAS hard work — especially culling and editing pictures afterwards when there are so many. It all takes time, but now a memory in time, right? Now on to editing three other photo shoots taken since the wedding. Never a dull moment around here anymore. 🙂

Christine - October 16, 2012 - 1:26 PM

Mary, I don’t know which one I like the most. I love the fall leaves in the back ground but I like the railroad tracks and then theres the water and the plain back ground and the window with her reflection. You took some very beautiful pictures with a very beautiful subject. You’re right her eyes are so blue and her hair was so perfect. What a wonderful time you must of had with Charly. Congratulations Charly and have a wonderful Senior Year.

Fairly Candid - October 4, 2012 - 1:22 PM

Tracy, thank you so much for that wonderful comment! Charly, Tracy and other co-workers of mine have verbally mentioned how photogenic and beautiful you are. Naturally, I agreed! Mary

Megan - October 4, 2012 - 2:28 PM

Scootch over Hollenbaugh and Zeurcher, there’s a new camera lady in town and WOWZA- she’s stiff competition!!! I am amazed at these- they are by far your best Senior yet. LOVED the originality in the first photo where she is holding her Kindergarten (?) picture and the wheel was awesome, as was the one between two big cylinders and on and on. Love all the amazing backdrops you do- you can tell you do your “scoping” homework and your clients are so lucky that they get unique, original places. Nice work Mama.

Jami - October 4, 2012 - 8:29 PM

OH MY GOSH!!!! Mary these are priceless! This is going to take us forever to pick the ones we want to mount. I have a feeling we are going to need a whole wall of our house dedicated to these. You did an amazing job of capturing my daughter’s personality and nature. I’ve recommended you to everyone I know. You made this monumental event so memorable and now we have the pictures to last a life time. One of my favorites is where she is tossing the water in the air, not because of Charly particularly, but just how you capture the water drops and her beautiful smile all in one shot. We can’t thank you enough!

Mickie - October 5, 2012 - 8:02 AM
