You Stink Bug – MJ

Ever smelled a stink beetle? How about 20 of them? While I am extremely proud of my grandson, now 2-1/2, for finally learning to be one with the bugs, does he have to have an admiration for the stinky ones? Outside was fine, but did he have to stomp on two of them, then come […]

Ewwwww!

Megan - May 31, 2012 - 9:12 PM

Um….you let them all go in your front yard???

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - May 31, 2012 - 9:39 PM

Heck no, they took them home! They actually forgot them and we called them to come back!

Aubrey - June 5, 2012 - 8:43 PM

Ha! I have done that trick before, leave the bugs with the Grandparents 🙂
MJ is just the cutest lil guy, I bet he could get away with a lot around Grandma! Nice work capturing even the icky parts of boyhood.

Andy and Kelli Married!

We sit in the front yard at our house all summer long which makes for great opportunities to get to know our neighbors … like Andy and Kelli who live directly across the street from us for almost two years now. It didn’t take long for Andy to come plop his butt down in our […]

I love her colors and all those feathers! Love thy neighbor seems downright reasonable in these situations 😉

"Good Job Marlies!"

Marlies’ mom, Jenny, was in my class when I taught 2’s and 3’s and 5th grade at FB Church. She was a smart little whip even then and liked to help care for the other little kids. Now she has a wonderful hubby and cute little daughter of her own — now 8-1/2 months old (see newborn shots here). We met at a park […]

What a sweetie pie.
Great job as usual despite your circumstances

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - May 18, 2012 - 7:56 PM

Thank you Laura, I’m happier hearing that.

Aubrey - May 20, 2012 - 1:21 PM

That beautiful red hair on Jenny & Marlies in her pink plaid jumper! It is too much & I love it! Fantastic pictures, Mary!

Milk – It Does A Body Good

“So Jayden, you’re five weeks old now. What do you attribute to your gorgeous body and muscles?” “Milk. I drink it all day.” “So there has to be other things you do during the day besides drink milk, right?” “Sometimes my brother and I play football or we arm wrestle. I love it when I […]

Thanks again mom. Wow what a chunk he is becoming huh. It is fun giving him a bath now because it involves moving every roll to the side to clean under and around it, I love it. The 2 photos of both my boys makes he so proud to be there dad. Love ya and all the photos

Gloria - May 15, 2012 - 8:13 AM

Adorable!!! It is so nice to see the boys together and how much they have both grown. Milk is a good thing!

Cathie Alonzo - May 15, 2012 - 8:18 AM

I LOVE these photos; hard to believe Jayden is 5 weeks old already!

lsj4157 - May 15, 2012 - 9:06 AM

Your commentary cracks me up!! Such precious pictures–such precious children–such an amazing grandma. Aren’t grandchildren the absolute best thing ever?

Megan - May 15, 2012 - 9:17 AM

Love the commentary also- and those last two pictures are killer. Danielle said she’s going to blow the two of them up as large as she can- I don’t blame her. The last one is perfect- love the milk tongue to end the post!!!

Simone Olivia [Newborn]

My second granddaughter and fourth grandchild, Simone Olivia, is now two weeks old! I’ve been a tad bit busy with all things baby, but finally I have Simone’s newborn photos done of the gazillion I’ve taken thus far! I shot hers over a period of two days — the first in her big sister’s doll […]

Mary, these photos are just wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Your Man - May 12, 2012 - 6:10 AM

Wow,what great poses and pics. Loved them all.

Kathy Jones - May 12, 2012 - 9:48 AM

beautiful!

Laura Higgs - May 12, 2012 - 7:17 PM

I know I’m biased but these are my favorite newborn pictures yet!!!!! I LOVE them. You do such a nice job. I think Simone looked so much like Syd in her 1 day pictures but she has changed soo much in these last pictures you have taken. I can’t wait to get my hands on her. Great job.

Megan - May 13, 2012 - 3:02 PM

Argh! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pictures and the little people in them!!! I can’t stop looking and then I think- “I’ll let her know my favorites” and then I write them down and it’s all but like 3 of them, so that’s ridiculous to list!!! The captured smirk in the red hat is a favorite as is the first “plain” one you see with Simone without bows/hats. I love the first little bed one and the lips on her in all of them make me want to go kiss her. The one you got with her eyes wide open is so Sydney it’s scary- and that little nose is perfect. Of course all the ones of Sis are my favorite, but the last one with the big eyes and all those tiny teeth is killer. How on earth am I supposed to pick for my wall? Good thing I have LOTS of space- I might just take one of each! 😉

Thanks again for sweating your bum off (literally) while taking these and working so hard to edit them so I could see them! Even if these weren’t my adorable kids, I’d tell you that you are an amazing photographer who captures such sweetness!!!

Love you!

Deanna - May 14, 2012 - 10:08 AM

Beautiful job Mary!!

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - May 14, 2012 - 10:24 AM

You are biased, I am biased, Megan is biased and that’s okay! Simone just keeps looking more like Syd all the time … It wasn’t as strong in the beginning, but now it’s like looking at Syd. In some ways I’m glad she is hear and a few weeks have passed so that now things are settling down, but in other ways I know this first year will fly by too quickly. Dang. I’m sure looking forward to seeing Helaina again and meeting Indy. I hope I get to photograph them. Wink. Wink.

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - May 14, 2012 - 10:26 AM

You are always so uplifting. You encourage me to want to do another one because every time I finish a newborn shoot I swear it’s my last one! You’d think I’d lose weight from all the sweating!

Gloria - May 14, 2012 - 1:00 PM

Great job Mary! I love them all! What beautiful children!

Patti - May 15, 2012 - 3:18 PM

It’s obvious that great care and love went into those pictures, Mary. They are wonderful!

Photo Challenge | "Hey Girl!"

The I Heart Faces Monthly Photo Challenge theme for May is “Hey Girl!” and my almost 2-1/2 year old granddaughter, Sydney, has something to “Hey!” about. As of April 28, she’s a new “Big Sister” and while I am trying to find the time to edit her baby sister’s newborn photos, I thought this might […]

Love the pink and her expression. Adorable.

lsj4157 - May 9, 2012 - 8:17 AM

So cute! Makes you wonder what she was thinking. Perhaps it was “I love my grandma!”

FairlyCandid.wordpress.com - May 9, 2012 - 8:20 AM

Duhhhhh! (Actually, she was looking at her mom thinking “okay, I sat here and looked pretty … can I have my gum now?”
