Grandmother Kathy

We met on a windy Spring day this week at the park … one of the best ladies you’ll ever meet — Kathy Bettger and her daughter Molly and two grandsons, 3-1/2 year-old Graham who is allowed to say “I’m almost four” soon, and Caleb who turns a BIG ONE this month. Molly is in […]

You’re pictures are amazing. You really know how to capture the people. It looks so natural.

Kathy Bettger - April 5, 2012 - 7:31 PM

Thanks, Mary. This all means a lot to me. Great work. You somehow capture the moment. I was there, but didn’t think any of this was going to be worth looking at. You know when to snap and where to place us.

Cindy - April 5, 2012 - 10:45 PM

You are such a talented photographer, Mary! Your pictures capture such spirit, life and energy! I always enjoy scrolling through them! And thank you for thinking of me: yes, I’ve been absent from my blog for awhile. I’m helping plan my daughter’s June wedding so I’m busy, busy, busy! But I’m still fitting lots of shooting in: just did a newborn and I’m second shooting a wedding in May. Plus this beautiful spring weather is enticing me to get back to nature photography: my first love! For now, I’m posting my pics on Facebook; I hope to get back to more blogging after my daughter’s wedding! - April 6, 2012 - 8:16 AM

To all of you who have commented … thank you for your kind words on the post of Kathy Bettger with the boys. Bloggers love comments and I am appreciative and encouraged by each one! Mary

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge-Happiness

They’re shaking it up over at I Heart Faces … doing challenges a little differently these days. This month’s challenge theme is “happiness” and this photo makes my heart sing on so many levels. What is happiness anyway? If I was guessing what she might say, it would go something like thisΒ … It’s being 11 […]

She’s so damn cute!!! Love the picture and can’t WAIT to see the others….

You need to make a quick adjustment tho…I’m 11 days away and NOT running 4-6 miles/week any longer. πŸ™ That came to a sudden and sad stop last week when I ran 6 last Friday and struggled to make it 12 minutes on Monday. I’m now an unhappy elliptical/stair master user. Which means I am REALLY missing out on my Baby Story episodes. πŸ˜‰

Oh, and I thought the write-up was spot on. πŸ˜‰ I am a happy girl…with way too many reasons.

Your Man - April 4, 2012 - 4:20 PM

What 2 beautiful girls. Can’t wait 2 c what’s next. I mean 3. The picture taker is in the background! That makes 3.

lmayfield3 - April 4, 2012 - 8:47 PM

You know, I think Megan has taken to this mom thing better than any of my other friends. (especially as a first time mom) Must be her great upbringing πŸ˜‰

Amanda Blue (Eyes That Is)

Megan - April 4, 2012 - 6:40 AM

Here’s my blog love:

There aren’t too many people who can pull off a closed and opened smile and have them be equally amazing. The messy hair up in the first two is my favorite- that look that so many people strive for…messy but controlled and you probably just whipped it up without thinking twice. The red lips are rockin, and I’m a bit jealous that I will never be able to wear that color.

My favorite three shots are the 2nd and the 4th ones- I love the hand placement and the casualness of them. I also love the one that is just a close up that seems to be turned sepia with the lips left red (?) – don’t know, but the color wash is cool and so is the angle.

Paula - April 4, 2012 - 7:53 AM

I like all of the shots! Especially the full smiles and the sepia. Wow!!!

stephen zahniser - April 4, 2012 - 8:01 AM

I believe you,Mary, captured the girl we all have known these many, but few, years. My favorite is the picture of Amanda by the quotation, which I believe is how Amanda challenges us, not only the words, but her facial expression. I also like her on the fence post, and the one that is almost a black and white. Truly amazing photos of a truly amazing girl with a truly amazing future.
steve - April 4, 2012 - 8:37 AM

What great comments from both of you that Amanda will love as well. I appreciate the opportunity you gave me to spend time with her. I hope she has as much fun as I did. Mary
